Highly recommended restaurant! The food was fresh and delicious, and the service was spectacular.
Great experience. Great food and service in the middle of a very touristy area. Wonderful cioppino very tasty crab Louis. Reasonably priced with good wine pricing.
Service was great from arrival till check out. Food was very good. Less noisy than the downstairs cafe. Beautiful view of the water. My cocktail raspberry lemon drop was amazing as well. Very satisfied with this restaurant.
Went there for the famous clam chowder on the bread bowl. Very underwhelming. The chowder was bland and flavorless. The sourdough bread bowl was stale and rubbery. Curiously, the sourdough bread brought to the table with butter while we waited for the chowders was much better, fresh and crispy on the outside. Apparently the “bowls” are prepared in advance and they do not age well. Overall, not a place that I would recommend, and not cheap as well.
Let me say the food was worth it - absolutely delicious I really didn't have the expectations going in and left speechless. I ordered the surf and turf and it blew my socks off. One of the best steaks I've ever eaten Would go to San Fran just to eat here again
Very good selection of food on offer, well prepared and presented. Excellent table service but hostess could do with lessons on customer service and smiling. Good value for money and good sized portions. Recommended.
We love eating at Boudin's. I'm always surprised that people don't know about this great restaurant on top of Boudin's building. The food is great, reasonably price ( 3 of us ate for $100) in SF that is pretty good. Lucia, the hostess, is outstanding. She always remembers us. She's very friendly and always smiling. I've found this not to be the case in a lot of places I've eaten where they just want you in and out. Lucia makes sure you feel welcome. It's definitely a treasure to have her working there. The service is very good and the food is on point too.
This place is such a great place to have dinner either as a couple or for family. They have great choices of items. Everything we order was delicious 😋
TASTY FOOD, GREAT SERVICE, GORGEOUS BAY VISTAS. CONE HERE EVERY TIME WE VISIT SF FROM HOME 3 hrs away,
I went in for a quick sourdough round and decided the garlic jalapeño looked amazing as well...my counter girl not only offered to slice the sourdough for me but she brought me containers of butter when I told her that we were going to be immediately toasting and eating them! Always the freshest bread!

We went to try the clam chowder served in a bread bowl and got the tomato soup for vegetarians. I found the soup portion to be somewhat small, and the bread bowl walls were quite thick. The spot was very busy, located right at the entrance of Pier 39, but fortunately, with multiple well-staffed counters, the lines moved quickly. They have plenty of seating both outside and inside.

This is a one and done novelty type of thing. You don’t come to Boudins for gourmet cuisine.

The café was a pretty fun experience. Since it is in the touristy area of the pier, it can get pretty crowded.
I got my favorite clam chowder in the bread bowl. I also bought some cute little animal shaped sourdough bread to take home with me, it was a breadwinner all around the table!

During my visit to San Francisco, a stop at Pier 39 was a must, there’s just so much to see, enjoy, and taste.
Right around lunchtime, we had to choose where to eat, and we ended up at Boudin, a local classic. We had heard all about their famous soup in a bread bowl, so I went with the Clam Chowder.
Super delicious! Creamy, flavorful, and comforting, perfect for the cool breeze by the bay.
Now, I’m not the biggest fan of bread, but I still really enjoyed it. And if you do love carbs, this bakery is a dream, packed with both sweet and savory treats behind every glass case.
Definitely a great spot to get a true San Francisco experience.

Ordered the clam chowder in a bread bowl. The clam chowder itself was decent but the portion was very small and felt like 80% of the meal was bread. The sourdough bread was not that great either.
