Excellent bread, people there are very friendly, the bread factory are really wonderfull, and you can visit it and see the bakers working all the time. The coffee is really good, and is a great place to have breakfast. I recommend the clam chowder.

This place was very busy and touristy. You order in a line and are shuffled like cattle to another area to pick up food. The pick up area is not organized at all. Another customer picked up my order. I went to get a refund and they couldn’t help me. The cashier gave me a random phone number to call, and it gets forwarded to voicemail. I’ve reached out on the company website to no avail. This is very disappointing and I feel very scammed. I’ve left messages with the receipt details and my contact info with no response. I guess I shouldn’t have left a tip on the original transaction.

Cool place with a great environment and friendly staff. Do NOT get the roast beef sandwich. Smallest amount of roast beef ever and super generic/gross.

A famous bakery serving San Francisco's famous sourdough bread. This is a long-established store that was founded in 1849, and the sourdough made here is characterized by its unique sour flavor and crunchy texture. This restaurant's specialty is the sourdough bread bowl with clam chowder (SOUP IN A BREAD BOWL - CLAM CHOWDER), which is very popular with locals and tourists alike. It can also be used casually by tourists from Japan at a reasonable price. The hardness of sourdough may not suit the Japanese palate.

English:
One of San Francisco’s most famous spots for sourdough bread. Established in 1849, Boudin is the original creator of San Francisco’s legendary sourdough, known for its unique tangy flavor and perfectly crisp crust. There’s no need for reservations, as this is a walk-in café, but it can get busy during peak hours.

Was disappointed that upon ordering the chicken club sandwich which my husband had previously ordered at another Boudin the previous day did not come with chips. Regardless it was yummy and the bear sourdoughs for take home purchase are super cute

Clam chowder is good. The Basic one is good. And i also had Homestyle Mac and Cheese, also good but both are creamy and cheesy. I wanted to have some jalapeños 😂

The bread is great! I like getting a small fresh boule, having it sliced and taking it to go- perfect amount of bread for two. Sandwiches are delicious. The upstairs bathroom is nice with an exceptionally large disabled stall that has a changing table and sink setup included in the stall.

Its bread and is edible but nothing incredible. The pizza was the best thing we had there but the crust wasn't toasted and tasted nothing like sourdough. In fact nothing tasted like sourdough. The tomato soup was very obviously from a plastic bag. The grilled cheese was pretty bland no real cheese or bread flavor. Its a cool building to look at but expensive and uninspiring food.

The clam chowder is not that good, and the person at the entrance is racist if you are Mexican don't go. And don't delete my comment anymore

They don't deserve the stars they have, the cream bread is very hard which makes it difficult to chew, the cream has no flavor and the sandwich has very little portion of chicken.
Zero recommended, not worth it.

Tried their signature clam chowder and it was ok. Great ambience for both indoor and outdoor with a stunning view of the bay.

Bread bowl clam chowder was so water down.

No bathrooms for customers inside building. Customer needs to use public and stinky bathrooms.
