I am a whiskey snob. Such a whiskey snob. We're talking Yamazaki, Hibiki, Highland Park, etc. and I prefer Single Malt Scotch Whisky. Neat.
I also love speakeasy bars because I hate screens, I don't like to see monitors, none of that. I love the vibe, love the bartenders, love the service and the whole atmosphere because they actually make the socializing aspect way more immersive than a boring sports bar IMO.
Service: very nice
Reservation: better have one
Dress code: not really, a little more business casual to match the vibes, but I prefer personally to get glammed up to pay honors and respect to the atmosphere and make those moments feel more special.
Money left there: too much, but def worth it when you get your tastes matched.

We had a great experience here. Staff were lovely đč and the cocktails were perfectly constructed and delivered in beautiful stemware. The room atmosphere was dark, subdued...you could almost smell the century of splendor. Will be back

I had a Delicious Sour (brandy), my friends had a Green Fairy (absinthe), and an Everything But the Sink (whisky and gin), and a whiskey. Drinks were tasty, service was perfect, theme was fun.

Mediocre cocktails. Menu goes on describing the depth of flavours, spices and its magic.
But when the drinks came, they were as good as a very average cocktail poured out from the stores.
No depth, no layers, no balances. Just purely a sugary drinkâŠ

The atmosphere was absolutely amazing! The place perfectly captures the spirit of the 1900s Prohibition era, with an authentic speakeasy vibe in every detail. Every cocktail we tried was so delicious that we wanted to taste the entire menu. The lady who served us was very kind and gave us great recommendations about the drinks. These were truly some of the best cocktails Iâve ever had in the U.S. â outstanding experience overall!

If you're looking for a fun, immersive experience that transports you straight back to the 1920s Prohibition era, this speakeasy-style bar is a must-visit. From the moment you arrive, it feels like you are stepping into a secret world. There's no sign - just a mysterious door and a doorbell. Ring it, give the password, and you're in.
Reservations are required, and the exclusivity adds to the charm. Once inside, you're seated at a cozy table and handed an impressively large cocktail and spirits menu. My friend and I went on a Saturday night around 9:30pm and were surprised by how relaxed and uncrowded it was.
The seasonal drink menu is incredibly creative, ad the staff were fantastic - patient, knowledgeable, and happy to walk us through the options. The service was top-notch, and the ambiance was spot-on for the era. Dim lighting, vintage decor, and a vibe that makes you want to stay awhile.
I tried a few cocktails, but the standout for me was the Heavy Artillery - bold, balanced, and unforgettable. There are a few house rules that help preserve the experience: 1. Be discreet with cell phone usage 2. No flash photography and 3. Remain seated and enjoy the era.
Overall, we had a fantastic time and would absolutely go back. It's not just a bar - it's an experience!

The drinks were great and we just wanted to go through the secret entrance but the door man was very judgmental and wouldnât let us in for being fun he told us to wait 45 min and come back we ate food across the street and came back and for no reason given he denied us very rudely saying it was because of the first attempt ⊠then why have us come back . Even the people on the street were confused as to why . Door man on Jones st. At 9-10pm doesnât like fun people be straight faced and no laughing until your inside I will not be coming back

The entrance can be tricky â itâs not where the map shows. Youâll need to go around the corner near address 480, where a doorman will check your reservation password before letting you in.
Inside, the atmosphere is fantastic with an extensive cocktail menu and a true hidden-bar vibe. We really enjoyed the experience, and it feels like a perfect spot for a date night.
One thing to note: the area right outside has quite a few homeless people, as others have mentioned. Just be aware when arriving and leaving.

Great speakeasy bar. I had the jackrabbit and cucumber (something). Cocktails tasted great.
Our server was super nice and knowledgeable. The ambiance was super cool to have a nice conversation with friends or significant other.
It was also a nice surprise to find out there is another speakeasy bar (the library) inside this speakeasy bar. Also had drinks there, but I enjoyed bourbon and branch more.

An authentic speakeasy experience. The drinks are great but you really want to go for the ambience. The hosts are all amazing as well, we got impeccable service.

Everything felt smooth and effortless. Impressed with the quality of service.
This speakeasy-style bar is reservation only - you need a password to get in. It is beautifully decorated and the artisanal cocktails are delicious. Google Maps seems to maybe be classifying it as a restaurant - please note that there is no food served, only an extensive selection of handcrafted cocktails and an even-more-extensive selection of spirits.

One of the more well-known speakeasies in SF. youâll need a password to get in (just make a reservation to get it). Cool concept, but honestly, I was expecting more.
The drinks were average, the decor didnât stand out, and the service was just okay. It feels like the hype is mostly around the âsecretâ entrance, not the actual experience.
Itâs a quiet spot, which makes it good for date nights, but there are definitely better bars in SF if youâre going for standout cocktails or atmosphere.

Absolutely amazing cocktails.
I didn't like my drink as much I'd have hoped for so the bartender himself came to our booth to ask me what I am looking for and made some custom drinks for us - twice! He was very kind and made absolutely amazing drinks. I am so glad I ended up finally making it to the speak easy.
Will definitely visit again.
Our server was an extremely helpful and kind lady who ended up guiding us to the library as well. :) good day.
