Fantastic food but my last experience was awful. First, the waiter took forever to take my order, and by the time they did, I was told that brunch was over. Brunch menu was over at 3pm, and it was 3:01pm. That just felt so low, and an unkind thing to do to a regular of 8 years. I do love this place, but that was some of the worst service I have ever experienced.

The food is honestly decent at best for me. I’m making the review after trying another Brenda’s also. As someone who grew up in the south, I doubt this place would make it there. The fried chicken had great breading, I’ll give it that, but lacked any real flavor. The collard greens had potential but were pretty subpar on flavor also. Maybe I just have had two off experiences, who knows, but kinda disappointing to think of southern food that lacks seasoning.

I only knew of Brenda's in Oakland, but I didn't know that there was an SF location. This is by far the best fried chicken I've ever had. Hope to bring my coworkers over for after work food and drinks soon.

The service was sssssooo good! Alicia, Dev, and Jerry were so helpful and kind! They made sure that everything was brought out in a timely manner. Nothing was missing, everything was cooked to perfection, we never ran out of drinks; everything was seasoned to perfection; it was absolutely perfect! The Molasses Black Walnut Iced Coffee with whipped cream was wonderful! The sweet tea is delicious. Our food favorites in order were: the fried fish, fried chicken, and the fish and grits! The parking was affordable. We will definitely be coming back whenever we are in San Francisco!

I had a delicious dinner here a couple weeks back. But I really want to give praise to the attentive server. My friend began having a medical episode and the server could see that something was wrong and asked if we needed anything. We asked for ice and she quickly brought it and was super attentive when we had to leave the meal prematurely. Thank you for your kindness and helpfulness. You are an angel.

The only thing I regret from going to Brendas was leaving it for my last night in San Francisco. We really enjoyed this place from the service to the food everything was amazing. Great spot and dont sleep on that hot pepper jelly 😋
