Terrible service.I ordered 3 drumsticks and a slice of pie, they told me it would be a couple minutes and I should wait outside on the bench. It was chilly out but not cold, typical SF weather, but after biking up the hill to eat here, my sweat was cooling down and soon so was I.After 10 minutes I realized I was more hungry than I anticipated, so I opened up DoorDash and ordered a sandwich from 4505 Meats 1 block away. The app said it would be ready in 20 minutes. I figured Brendas would be ready soon, then I could swing by and get the sandwich.20 minutes later, silence from Brendas, and a ping from DoorDash that my 4505 sandwich was ready. I wait another 5 minutes for Brendas to get ready.5 minutes passes. I hop on my bike and ride over to 4505 and collect my sandwich and ride back to Brendas to wait.10 minutes go by, still nothing. Sandwich is getting cold, I am already cold, so I cut my losses and went home without my order from Brendas since they forgot about me/were ignoring me.They always tell you its better to order in person rather than through a food delivery app, but in my personal experience, if you don't order through an app they completely forget about you. I'm not even sure if they had even remembered I ordered food, but I wasn't in a mood to chase them around asking for my order either.I live within a few blocks of this place but I probably won't be back.

The food here is packed with flavor. We really enjoyed the fried chicken and ribs. They also have a bunch of tasty drinks. Highly recommend the hurricane mixed drink. Biscuits were perfectly soft and fries had a good crunch. Go here when you are hungry and you will leave very happy.

Everything and I mean everything was absolutely delicious. I was stuffed. However the Mac and cheese was not what I expected. Additionally on a positive note, the Beignets were massive and delicious. The watermelon sweet tea was a major plus too. So the only thing you need to fix is your Mac and cheese recipe. Overall very tasty and we had a great time.

Was rather full after a day out. Saw Andre 3000, and spots nearby were packed after. Surprisingly, Brenda's had space. Got the dinner combo with cat fish, collared greens, and peas. All excellent. Couldn't ignore the ube beignet. It was so good, and easy to finish.
this place is a banger, great food, friendly service, the wait can be long but it’s worth it. don’t skip the johnnycakes and fried

Called in on a Saturday morning at 10:20 AM expecting it’d be hard to grab seats but they told us that we would be able to get seated without issue. We rushed over and they were right— no wait at all.First time here at the Meats and Three location having gone to the original on Polk years back before the pandemic. Had fairly high expectations given the hubbub around this place since and am pleased to report that it delivered. We ordered quite a few things for two people: the four-flavor selection of beignets, a cup of gumbo, the biscuits and gravy with a chicken cutlet, and the pork hash. On the side I had a coffee (Mr. Espresso is their house coffee) and it was about what I’d expect of a diner-style cup.We started with the savory: the gumbo paired with our entrees could have been a meal of its own. It was just the right consistency you’d hope for where it wasn’t too soupy or too loaded with the sausages or rice within. The rice was sprinkled on top so it wasn’t too sauced up before we consumed it. Nice. The biscuits and gravy was fine, with the star being the chicken cutlet that I ordered it with. Chicken was nice and juicy, the batter was crispy, and everything complemented the gravy well. I wish there was a bit more gravy as I approached the end of the dish it felt like I had some additional biscuit that I would have enjoyed more covered fully in gravy. The eggs (over easy) were on the side.A small complaint here, moreso an observation, is that the plate was too big for the biscuits and gravy. There was a lot of empty space on the plate and the eggs could have simply covered the eggs. Given the small real estate of the table, it was actually quite crowded for a two-top.My partner has the pork hash and she enjoyed it immensely. She ordered it with the biscuit which was perfectly complemented with their jam. I had a bite of the pork hash and was pleased.Beignets were fine: perhaps we waited a bit too long to eat them as everything kind of came at once. We were stuffed so we had to bring them home. (Best consumed fresh and hot of course)Overall, would come back. Would love to try more of the eponymous meats in the future. The small sliver of fried chicken I had was delicious so definitely will be back for at least that.A five star gem on Divis.
