Recommended by my Burmese friend and this place was amazing! The fish with tamarind & basil, pickled mango pork and the fried combo appetizer were my favorites but everything we ate was seriously so good (6 curries, 3 appetizers and 2 orders of fish with tamarind)

All the food we ordered was great, tasted homemade and flavorful. We especially loved the tamarind leaf salad, the pork with pickled mango, and the fragrant coconut rice. The staff were also really friendly and helpful. Would recommend this place!

We’ve been to all the other nearby Burmese restaurants and this one takes the cake! The tea leaf salad had actual fermented tea leaves that added an extra delicious zing! Our lovely server, Yuumee, made some great recommendations and we enjoyed discussing Burmese cuisine and culture with her 😁 the garlic chicken and the beef chana daal were incredible. You have to order the balae-chaung, regardless of what main dishes you order! It was very good and very authentic. 10/10 meal and experience, excited to come back!

LOVE eating here!! the staff is always so sweet and the food is delicious. The best tea leaf salad i’ve ever had from a Burmese restaurant and I crave the Spicy Fish every single day! Please come here for some delicious food. They also do party trays, we ordered a tray of tea leaf salad for our party and everyone loved it!

Quality seemed like it was home-cooked. Really impressive.
Really enjoyed the food here. The tea leaf salad and samosas were the highlights, but great entrees too. Highly recommend, especially for the price!

Two of the dishes I had were dry - a noodle dish, which had a ton of garlic, and the tea leaf salad (dry and not very flavorful). The tofu appetizer was good - especially the sauce. Great service.
These lovely folks have fed me for years, warm filling gluten free options, they mark what has gluten in the menu with (g), Chicken coconut curry and sour leaf bamboo is my go-to order

One of, if not the best, Burmese restaurants in SF. Generally (surprisingly) not that busy for dine-in, but oh man such incredibly good food. The pickled mango pork is one of the best dishes I’ve had. Definitely must go (multiple times).

Burmese Kitchen is the best, most authentically Burmese restaurant. Though other restaurants are okay, their menus are Chinese-influenced--delicious too, but I'm at a Burmese restaurant for Burmese. Burmese Kitchen offers more traditionally Burmese dishes, such as their Sour Leaf and Shrimp or vegetarian version (my favorite and only restaurant that serves it). The owner grows his own sour leaf vegetable to have it available all year...thank you Dennis! And forever thanks for starting the Burmese trend decades ago in the Tenderloin! Also, BK Lady Fingers/Okra is a sublime mouth play of crisp okra and OMG, how-do-they-make-it-taste-so-good flavor. If you only know okra as slimy, you haven't had it prepared correctly. Oh, and BK Tea Leaf salad is more generous and flavorful with the fermented tea leaves. Try Burmese Kitchen and you'll see! And the Balangchuang for those who enjoy a spicy pop.

This is my go to burmese place in the city because the food here is consistently delicious. My favorite meal consists of the basil fish, green beans and biryani rice.
Very friendly and attentive staff. Food was reasonably priced. Tea leaf salad came mixed and was good. Entrees were good. Garlic egg noodles were good and not too salty. Pork with pickled mango was unique and probably my favorite. The prawn and pumpkin was ok but the flavor was mild. Coconut rice was great.
