Went to Butter with my friend Emily for her birthday — Steve was there too, along with one of Emily’s friends — and honestly, it was one of those nights that just clicked.

Butter is such a staple. It’s been part of the neighborhood forever, and it still somehow manages to feel fresh every single time. The vibe is effortlessly cool, the music is on point, and the whole place has that slightly chaotic, anything-could-happen energy that makes you want to stay longer than you planned.

We had drinks, laughed a lot, met people, bounced around inside, and just had a genuinely great time. The staff keeps things moving without killing the fun, and the atmosphere feels welcoming in that way where everyone ends up talking to everyone else by the end of the night.

It’s one of those places you bring friends from out of town to show them this side of San Francisco — not polished, not precious, just fun. Birthdays, random nights out, or “let’s see where the night goes” plans… Butter always delivers.

Consistently good vibes, consistently fun, and always a reminder of why this place has lasted as long as it has.

The Asian bartender with long hair and pony is horrible he threw my phone and yelled at me for my card getting declined the first time. Horrible behavior and something I don’t expect. I left the club in disgrace. Horrible. He sweared at me heavily.

Butter is an SF staple. This trailer park themed bar may have sticky floors, but it also has amazing DJ's, music perfect for dancing, good drinks for decent SF price, super fun bartenders, and always a great crowd all for a cover of $5. Good to note that the bar doesn't fill up on weekends until usually after 11

Fun atmosphere for a bar dancing vibe on a Friday. Music was really fun, a mix of some edgy throwbacks and pop. Drinks were STRONG, a bit hard to drink, and were pricey - would recommend just getting a beer for this win a budget. Cash cover of $5, and there’s an ATM across the street.

I was here last and it was an awesome atmosphere. I had the Jalepino poppers and it was amazing. I still can't believe the first ever Redbull Vodka was made here. Awesome place and great staff.

After a fun SF weekend we ended up here and the crowd was super friendly,
the live DJ with interludes of saxophone fun to dance to, and the service nice, fast and excellent. What a great way to end the weekend! Thank you very much ❤️
