This is my all-time favorite bahn mi! I eat here at least once a week and get the Buddha tofu sandwhich. The lemongrass sauce is to die for!

I have been coming to this place for years, since not long after they opened. However, lately I’ve noticed that they continue to raise their prices frequently. This evening I went in for the crispy chicken sandwich. This time it was 14.50 out the door. Not only that but the quality has noticeably gone down. The sandwich was entirely bland and flavorless. Won’t be back again for some time. Disappointing.

This place had some really good cold vermicelli dishes. Looks grungy but food is delicious! The bowl looks as good as it tastes.

As I entered, the pretty young cashier was blowing her nose into a paper towel with both hands, then wiped her hands off with a paper towel, NEVER WASHED them before coming to the register to take my order. Disgusted, but grateful she would not be touching my sandwich, having already paid for an hour of parking, hungry, and looking forward to a great eggplant and veggie bahn mi for my birthday. I lost my appetite and decided I'd give away what ended up being an expensive CARROT SANDWICH. Never again!

Casual Vietnamese joint, with a large menu. We came here for lunch and sat near the window. They have a couple tables outside for seating as well. There is only one washroom. Basically you pay and order, and you get a number while you wait for your food to arrive. Service is very no frills.
We got the five spice chicken pho, five spice chicken Saigon noodle vermicelli, and steak Saigon noodle. They didn't include too much meat for the vermicelli dishes. I liked that the spring rolls were fresh. Keep in mind that they do contain pork. Unfortunately, I was disappointed that they didn't include any of the usual Thai Basil and other herbs in the vermicelli dishes. The pho broth was ok, nothing outstanding.

I have now tried every reputable Bahn mi shop in San Francisco and I will say they have the best ones yet.
The balance between the meat and veggies is perfect and everything is super fresh and flavorful. The sandwich and veggies are crunchy and the meat soft. The lemongrass steak is to die for.
They also have other options like pho that seemed legit. I need to go back and try. Seating inside is available.
Love these Sandos. Usually never disappoints. I always get the pork. However the one time I try chicken I crunched on not one bone but two. One bone in both sides of the sandwich. As I’m getting older I try to avoid the dentist if possible. This coulda been bad. I still love this place but just a heads up.
