Latin home cooking just steps from Mission Yoga

La Taza is a Mission District treasure and one of our closest neighbors. This cozy bistro serves authentic Latin comfort food with warm, homey energy. Their huevos rancheros win the crown in San Francisco. Yes, we have tried them all. The portions are generous, the staff treats you like family, and it is the perfect spot for a pre-class refuel or post-class brunch.

Great for: breakfast, comfort food, hanging with locals, anything involving eggs.

Very good! The huevos rancheros were yummy and the tres leches pancakes were good but probably would not get again. Had the Quesadilla Salvadoreña for the first time and highly recommend!! The yucca fries were not great in terms of texture. Would come back

Skip the food here - have gone twice just to see if the first occasion was a one-off but it only confirmed that this should be a coffee-only place. Bland breakfast potatoes, undercooked chorizo and extremely runny, watery eggs. Ordered a burrito the second time and it ended up being a greasy pile struggling to even be held together when you first hold it. My partner and I ordered at the same time on both occasions and both times our food arrived at drastically different times with no check-in or explanation from the server. The only form of inquiry about our meal was when the server finally dropped off the remainder of our food and asked if we would like ketchup as he was walking away. The whole thing seemed rushed, disingenuous, and like an inconvenience. Some of the staff is nice enough and were able to accommodate a custom coffee order but other than that, I would struggle to even step foot in the door from now on.

If you're a mocha enthusiast in the bay, Cafe La Taza is an absolute must-visit. Nestled in the heart of the Mission, this cozy café offers the best mocha I've had the pleasure of tasting. Either iced or hot, it’s delicious!

I’ve been a loyal customer for years, but I’m honestly beyond frustrated. Every single time I place an order, something is wrong. This isn’t a one-time mistake — it’s a recurring issue, and I’m tired of it.
Today was no different. I couldn’t even enjoy my food because I had to take time out of my lunch break to go back and complain — again. The worst part? No one seemed to care. No apology, no acknowledgment. Just indifference.
This level of service is incredibly disappointing and completely unprofessional. What’s most upsetting is that this does not reflect the service at Bar Tza — which I’ve always found to be great. It honestly feels like they’re run by two entirely different teams.
I’m speaking up now because it’s been happening far too often, and nothing ever changes. Customers deserve better — especially those who keep coming back.
Friendly tip to other customers: Before you leave, double-check your order to make sure everything’s correct — unfortunately, you can’t count on it being right.
