Happened across this place by accident because they were open after 9 and they welcomed us wholly! What a wonderful gem this place is. The food is amazing & the service impeccable. Owners work and walk the floors engaging customers. Authentic Italian!
We arrived and were greeted by a very, very kind gentleman who opened up our experience in the best way. Once we got seated, we began looking at the menu. We were seated with the open kitchen directly behind us, but it was a small place and wasn't the worst. I honestly think every other seat in the house was better - ha! However, the service was pretty great. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was the garlic bread that we ordered came out after our food, when it was meant...
I haven't been to Cafe Tiramisu for at least a decade. We had friends visiting from Ohio and staying at the Chinatown Hilton. So, it was a nine minute walk for them and a quick BART ride for us. What a great experience! It was much more welcoming and the food and service were much better than I remembered. The owners were always around checking on us, but not being intrusive.
