The worst coffee I have ever tasted. I mistakenly thought this would be the cheapest coffee at SFO, but it’s not even the best price. Equator (also in terminal 1) is cheaper and has solid, normal drinks.
Was pulled in by the robotics, I've seen similar vending machines in Vegas for cookie milk shots but hadn't tried coffee. Rest assured, the machine will give you quite a show that you can record on your cell phone. It took its time gently measuring ingredients before pouring them in the drink, and the prices were unsurprisingly below that of an actual coffee shop at the airport.
A minute or two later, when I went to grab the perfectly made drink, I made a critical error! I pulled it through the low-hanging plastic bar where beverages are served from and spilled half its contents. Me and a fellow traveler just looked at each other and fell out laughing. Technology, right?!
Loved the setup. Note to the owners- might want to come clean the windows.
I ordered a hoy chocolate and ube mocha muffin. Both were really good!

Looked cool. Got an iced vanilla latte that tasted like teryaki sauce. So. Not so great. Not getting that $8 back 👎🏻

Don't buy anything from this robot. Almost everything is crap. I ordered Vanilla Matcha and it was so bad for 7 dollars 🤮
worst drink i've ever had, immediately threw it (iced pumpkin chai latte). asked for a refund and never heard back.

I got tempted by the robot barista! We are from NJ and there was this same robot (or a similar one) at the science center solving Rubik’s cubes. Now it’s making coffee! I got a dirty matcha latte iced, and it was pretty bitter. Tasted much better once I stirred it. $7 a little expensive but not as bad as I thought it would be. I loved watching the robot make it though, there is so much enjoyment while he carefully takes the cup and places it. He dances around and moves his mechanical arms and waves too. It’s cute! Buy it once at least :)

I stumbled upon CafeX near baggage claim and felt a strange mix of curiosity and sympathy for the poor robot barista—looked like it had just finished a long-haul flight itself and stretching and flexing its muscles. Out of sheer empathy (and a slight caffeine withdrawal), I scanned the QR code and ordered a Pumpkin Chai Latte.
The ordering was slick, but watching the robot “work” was the real entertainment. Imagine a bored hibachi chef performing with invisible knives—equal parts acrobatics and existential crisis. It stretched, spun, and flexed its metallic arm like it was auditioning for “So You Think You Can Brew?”
The latte? So so. A bit pricey, but you’re paying for the show… and perhaps for the robot’s therapy fund. Worth trying once, if only to witness the future of mildly depressed automation in action. If there more people ordering it would stretch the lines longer than in Starbucks.

Awful—tasted like the robot had dumped salt in the beverage. Latte was undrinkable. How do you get your money back?
