I had been craving fro-yo/soft serve for a while, so when I was tasked with picking the team post-lunch dessert, I knew exactly what I was looking for. Shoutout to Yelp for helping me find this hidden gem, and yes, it is pretty hidden! It's tucked away down an alley you might not think to venture down unless you know what you're looking for. I got a small (which is actually pretty big) half chocolate soft serve with French custard and Oreos on top and it was exactly what my heart, mouth, and stomach had been craving. It was so good in fact that I devoured it within minutes. The man working was nice and answered all our questions about toppings and the different sizes. So happy we found this spot!

It's places like this that Yelp really helps people find. This cafe is tucked into an alley (Trinity Place), next to one of the busiest traffic intersections in the city (Montgomery and Bush). The food is spot on: several flavors of frozen yogurt (yes, vegan options too), and the ability to customize the toppings to make it healthy, rich, sweet, or a combination of those. One tip is to ask about any fresh fruit toppings they may have, as they may not be displayed. The man who was working was very helpful in suggesting toppings if you're uncertain. I haven't tried their sandwiches yet, but I am curious. Love this place. Support local businesses.

A little hidden gem in downtown! If you're craving frozen yogurt, this is my go to spot. The plain tart is delicious and if I didn't have any self control I would probably eat the largest size and still eat more. The small size is $5 (no toppings) and a great treat for self; we all deserve it! Cash is appreciated.

Long, long ago, there was a vibrant and crowded financial district in the quaint little village called San Francisco. Engineers who made computers and their software were not called "Tech" by anybody because that was a term exclusively reserved for the backstage workers who hung lights and operated sound mixing boards in small concert halls and community theaters. People who made websites were called "designers" and "apps" were something they served during happy hour at Applebee's.There were people in this town: lots and lots of people! They came from all over to eat, drink, and talk about things like office supplies, how they hate or love (or both) bike messengers, where to drink beer after work, and why doesn't management fire Leonard when he clearly isn't pulling his weight around here (and I'm not just saying that because we're both competing to get the same Webvan ad contract). There was a bustling lane called Trinity lined with creperies, pizzerias, sandwich and coffee shops, and a tiny shop called Ambrosia which always had a line out the door. The line at Ambrosia moved quickly past one man who took their money then another who scooped a pile of freshly cut strawberries from a huge steel bowl into a cup of frozen yogurt or ice cream and handed it to them.It was the best thing on Earth! Imagine it: birds tweeting, watching people, the aromas from all the restaurants mixing, and a soft breeze blowing down the shady brick street rustling the leaves of the trees on the tower terrace above you on a hot summer's afternoon. There you are with your little cup of heaven. Then it's back to work for the last few hours of your day, pumped by the fresh air and your sugar rush.Fast forward to today. The birds still tweet, the sun still shines, the cool breeze still blows, and the leaves rustle, but there's far fewer people in the district. Leonard and his coworker are long, long gone. A pizza place is still there and maybe a coffee shop around the corner, but continue down Trinity just a little farther to the tiny shop called Ambrosia. There's only one guy there, now. He's run the place for almost thirty years. The strawberries are kept in a fridge in the back, but if you ask nicely he'll go chop some up fresh. Any flavor of the frozen stuff he's got. It doesn't matter. But don't forget the fresh strawberries.

Really happy this place survived :) small yogurt/smoothie shop that I usually went to pre-pandemic, and the sizes are good. The owner is very kind and I'm glad he was able to open Cafe Ambrosia again recently. Looking forward to having froyo in the city again :)

It’s hard to find French custard frozen yogurt, and Caffe Ambrosia’s is delish!

nice hole-in-the-wall spot to grab dessert. the smallest size froyo cup is pretty much what's served at other ice cream joints as a regular, so it's all very affordable too!

Great place for dessert. The location itself is not very spacious and its small parking lot is across the street. However, the selection of desserts is great, and the service here is also quick. Tried their brownie ice cream and it was big! I would recommend sharing as a lot of their portions are big. Definitely also try the macaroon ice cream and blue velvet cake! My stomach is growling as we speak!

This is a good froyo spot in an alley with a very nice owner. I picked up fro-yo for the office with a list of around 15 orders and the owner was very organized and numbered each cup to correspond with my list. I tried the french custard with oreo and almonds and it was absolutely delicious. As of March 2022, they have 4 flavors - french custard, chocolate, plain, and raspberry sorbet. I did stop by the shop a few days ahead of ordering to check if they accept card, which they do although cash is appreciated.

So glad to see they are still open. (10:00-4:00 now). A nice variety of frozen yogurt flavors and toppings. Yummy raspberry sorbet and fresh strawberries for me today. Also a variety of sandwiches. Definitely planning to go back soon.
