There was a very strong smell when I entered. We had to have our meal takeaway and left. I didn't like the pizza.

(Make a reservation)
We arrived at Capo’s around 7:20 pm on a Saturday and were told we would have to wait 40 minutes for a table.
As hungry travelers, we said thank you and as we were about to leave, the hostess finds a nook and sat us down outside. I appreciate the fact that she did us that favor.
There were no patio heaters, so if sitting outside or walking in during busy hours, expect to dine outside in the cold with no heat (during winter).

(The Staff)
It was a very busy night, but the staff did a spectacular job in checking in on us.

(The Food)
The appetizers come in a reasonably sized portion, we ordered the garlic bread with mozzarella and was given a complimentary dish of olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
My partner ordered the meat lasagne and I ordered the rigatoni alla vodka with smoked pancetta. The food was really good, it’s unlike anything I have ever had.
Take in mind that the dishes do serve up to 2 people, on busy nights it make take a bit to get your food, and regular pizzas take up to 20 minutes to bake, deep dish pizzas take up to 45 minutes to bake (but they look like they are worth the time!)

(Conclusion)
I would have loved to sit inside, the vibe is really nice. If you are looking for authentic Italian food with a nice atmosphere and friendly staff, book a reservation at Capo’s.

Had good pizza and salad here
My vanilla Italian soda just tasted like soda water unfortunately. And with the front door open all night it was freezing cold for our meal. Besides that it was a nice dining experience.
Oh, most of the pizzas are very meat friendly, just a heads up to you veggie lovers out there.

Parking: Limited to none street parking.

Great food and service. Just had my first deep dish ever and I’m pretty sure that’s exactly how it should be.

The meat lasagna consisted mostly of tomato sauce and hardly any meat. Not what one would expect from an Italian meat lasagna. Disappointing.

Our go-to place for deep dish pizza, especially love their pepperoni and Detroit deep dish. Its tomato sauce is so rich and thick, mixed with layers of cheese and high quality sausages - just amazing!

I’ve tried famous deep dish pizzas too, like the Lou’s in Chicago. Despite Capo’s doesn’t have the same hype, it definitely tastes better!

What a nice gem. We had very good buffalo wings and an amazing deep dish pizza with dessert and drinks. Friendly and prompt service with very good food & spirits. Thanks for a great evening!

really enjoyed our experience here! We ordered the pesto pasta and meat lasagna. Both items were really good but nothing stand out. The deep dish pizza seems like the thing to get here. Service was wonderful and prices were average for SF. Would recommend!

It's a bar with very average food. Everything had their same tomato sauce and was overly salty and peppery.

The food just didn't live up to the reviews. They have a variety of pizzas so we just got the wrong type chicago deep dish. The spaghetti with sausage was a fail in every way. It wasn't spaghetti. It looked seriously like chow mein noodles. The pasta sauce tasted like basic tomato sauce with no seasonings. The sausage tasted nasty like it went bad but I think that's how it was supposed to taste. Luckily very little meat in a "bolognese". No bread and butter like most restaurants. The Italian sodas were great. The service was great. The food just wasn't good enough to return but it was busy so some people like it!

Five stars to this bustling restaurant for accommodating my large party of 9. I felt a bit anxious about getting a table since it was a bustling weekend in the North Beach area, but Grace, the manager, was incredibly accommodating and warm, which is a rare quality these days. She recommended some plates that were truly amazing. I genuinely value the service and food at Capos, and I will certainly return.
