Breakfast burritos are awesome, will return for them.
Weirdly though, there are an abundance of signs on the inside about food from outside and laptops that made me feel unwelcome even though I had neither my laptop nor food from outside with me.

I freaking LOVE this place! I usually order for take out but I’ve also eaten there. The empanadas are so YUMMY, my favorite ones are spicy beef and spicy chicken. Service is lovely and so is the coffee!!!!

Great empanadas, delicious milanese sandwich and Havanna alfajores. We will be back. The owner is very nice too. Ask him about Argentina.
I had a great conversation with Chalow while I was waiting for my empanadas. They are so delicious!! Highly recommend stopping by for some tasty food.

There is one good thing for sure that put a note on each table that laptops are not welcome and old fashioned way of communication is highly appreciated. The food is fine, not many choices. So, good occasionally for a bite, but I wouldn't go there for a meal. The seating area is small, but there are few tables for sharing.

The empanada was tasty but it was almost $7… literally ate it in 3 bites. I am a small woman and don’t eat much but this was a shock. I won’t be going back for that reason.

Step in and order at the counter with a person or the kiosk for quick computer ordering and payment. Once you order and pay, they’ll call you up for your food if you order to go (not sure about table delivery if eating there). I got the churros with cinnamon, and if you want a good carb load then this is the perfect pick… not too sweet, crispy outside with soft interior. This place fills with sun if the sun is out, leading into noon, so it gets warm inside. There are also some small seats outside. Remember — no laptops, tablets etc. and no outside food or beverages. They have clear signs stating this.

I’ve wanted to try this place for a long time, and now that I have, sadly I won’t go again. The empanada was tiny, and the price was not in proportion. The flavor was lacking. I had the jamon and cheese. I have had way better empanadas than this. The person behind the counter was not welcoming. He didn’t let me know that my drink was ready. When I found out that he had placed my drink in a different area than I expected, there was no smile nor an explanation. He was not the person I would have chosen to greet a customer.

We came to Chalos excited about having hot chocolate with churros!! (Argentinian style). It was a big disappointment. The churros were not cooked inside and the hot chocolate was milk with hot fudge. :(
We definitely need a place in the city that reflects our genuine (Argentinian) taste in simple yet yummy food. Chalos is not it. The place was clean and the service was good.
