Outstanding service and tasty food. Very much the lounge atmosphere with comfy seating. We sat in a bistro table that facilitated eating better for us. Cool hotel even if in sketchy area of SF. Felt very secure.

Great vibes! Drinks a good and ambience is what you're paying for. Not the food, which is bland at best.

Service at the bar was great! The food is yummy, good value! Just don't expect gourmet (as in "extraordinary") food.

We are repeat customers at Charmaine's 3-4 times per year. Lovely space and views. Amazing place to go with a group, and bring your wallet. Great pre-theater spot for Orpheum and Golden Gate Theater

Good cocktails, nice ambiance, slow service, and awful food. I would go back, but only for cocktails. In particular, the Big Cat.

Great anniversary experience. Quiet evening, we were seated earlier than our reservations.

We went on a Tuesday evening so it wasn't busy at all. We're in our 70's, but young at heart, however the music was very loud. Cocktails were excellent, but VERY EXPENSIVE, even by San Francisco standards; and the appetizers were very small and expensive as well. Probably too trendy and expensive to try again.

Charmaine's is beautiful and they have a lovely drink menu. It's really fun being on a terrific roof bar.

I love rooftops, and Charmaine’s definitely has a few things going for it — great views of the San Francisco skyline, good music, and trendy décor. It’s got the vibe, but overall, I found it pretty overrated and leaning toward tourist trap territory.

A few things to note before you go:
•   You have to pay $21 per person in advance just to make a reservation.
•   It’s located right on the edge of the Tenderloin, so street parking is basically a no-go. The hotel (Proper Hotel) does offer valet parking — for $60.
•   Drinks run around $20 each, which I wouldn’t mind if the service matched the prices.

Unfortunately, the service was terrible. Our server was hard to track down, didn’t really engage with us, and overall felt checked out. The hostess had a bit of an attitude too — not exactly welcoming.

It’s a place to go once for the view, but don’t expect much beyond the aesthetics And gram post.

Had a lovely evening with friends inside by fireplace. The place is beautiful, food and drinks delicious and good service. A little pricy but to be expected in SF.

The last time I had a drink in an old peoples home with my Grandma we had a G&T and it didn’t cost me $30

Loved the rooftop ambiance, a bit breezy but gas firepits kept us warm. Enjoyed the cocktails (french martini) and lite bites (crunchy fish tacos). Just enough before heading to play, Neil Diamond Story. Jose our server was super friendly, helpful and attentive. Also, hubby and I were running late because of traffic; I was texting with restaurant giving them updates, and they kept our reservation open - we were 25 minutes late from original time. So appreciative of that. Would definitely choose Charmaine's again.

Recognize it is a bar that focuses on alcohol and not food. That being said, the drinks were awful, poorly presented and were not served in the proper glass. They are trying to be a high end club and outside of the view they are not close

The restaurant was fine, but something to note is that the $10 per person reservation charge does not get adjusted in your actual bill. It's not openly mentioned as well, making it an extremely annoying policy. FYI you're better off just walking in since the place was 50% empty on a Friday evening

The property was as expected, once inside. Unfortunately, I was escorting a Diva and her Mate, for whatever reason they decided to fold once we were seated. As it turned out, they were both taken back by the street presence where I parked around the corner. Nothing occurred, they just were not used to being exposed to the hard truth of life in the streets, as we all no The T¥oin can be a bit disturbing at times. I'll be sure to prep my guest and choose my parking location better next time. Charmaine's is Top Shelf, they deserve praise, I for one will be back.
