The managers of this bakery are incredibly unprofessional and will go as far as lying about not receiving your deposit payments for catering services. Please read the full story below: We ordered a catering meal for $450.00 on 11/03/22 with the manager. We paid $250.00 for a deposit and agreed to pay the remaining balance $200.00 on pick up day. When we picked up the food, the manager claimed our remaining payment was actually $250. Because we were in a hurry to pick up the food for a funeral ceremony early in the morning, we forgot to bring our deposit receipt which would show we only owed $200. The manager gave me her copy of the receipt and we noticed she clearly erased the word "paid" and wrote down "owed" $250 in Chinese characters. My friend and I were in shock at how she was trying to scam us out of an additional $50 by insisting we only paid $200. She became upset and yelled at us to pay the extra $50. We were in a hurry and did not have time to argue with her. I said we will bring the original receipt as proof. A few days later we found the receipt, but because I was so busy I had already dropped the issue in my mind and moved on. Over a year later on 2/2/2024, I went to place another catering order. The same manager saw me and yelled in front of all the staff that I did not pay her enough last time. It was extremely embarrassing in front of many customers. This was ridiculous unprofessional conduct. The incident took place a year ago and she still decided to make a public situation out of it while lying about our missing payments. To rectify the issue, I went home and took out the receipt from 11/03/22 which plainly showed "Paid $250 cash". I brought it and asked her to look. Even with the evidence in sight, she saw it and simply responded by yelling unintelligibly. As a once frequent customer, I am disappointed by the lack of moral principles in the management of this bakery. I only wish to inform everyone who they are dealing with if they choose to visit this business.

I love this spot it's my go to whenever I am disappointed by a different dim sum spot that my boyfriend wants to go to I say we should've just gone to chase luck. The ladies at the counter are always quick and nice the food is amazing it doesn't have a million wrappers on it and hasn't been sitting out for days. It's not impossible to find parking in the area most times I've been there. I rarely leave reviews but I love this place so much that any low review on here makes me angry!

Food was greasy and some weren't hot. The lady who helped me had a bad attitude. She rolled her eyes when I asked a question.

Five stars for the cheapest food you can get for $9 and a few cents (rice and three dishes). I get three meals out of one combo meal. I also like the mochi with peanuts inside and coconut outside at three pieces for $3.50. Best budget food in San Francisco.

I always make sure I make a stop here when I'm in town. You can never go wrong with some to go dim sum and this is the place to go! There can be a line depending on the time of day that you go but it is sure worth it! Their prices are affordable and the food is delicious! Overall 5/5 for my family and I!

Chase Luck Bakery is a hidden gem for those craving quick and authentic dim sum. The menu boasts fair prices without compromising on flavor, delivering a genuine taste experience. Our order included Shumai, chive dumplings, and a baked bao - each bite was a burst of deliciousness. The Shumai, with its delicate balance of textures, showcased the chef's expertise. Chive dumplings were a flavorful delight, and the baked bao, a perfect blend of sweetness and fluffiness. The speed of service matched the name - quick yet attentive. Chase Luck Bakery is a go-to spot for dim sum enthusiasts seeking an authentic and affordable culinary adventure. If you're in the mood for tasty, no-frills dim sum, this spot is a sure win! Wish we had the appetite for all the other fast Chinese food, everything looked delicious.

Fresh, affordable and friendly staff! We loved the shrimp dumplings and egg tarts. The pineapple buns had a filling, which we weren't expecting (but also good!).

We only liked the steam red bean buns. The other dim sum and take out food was subpar! There are other places much better! Will not go back!

If you want to eat some dim sum without paying sit down prices for takeout this is one of the spots you can hit as they are designed for takeout only. They have the standard dim sum fare of har gao ( shrimp dumpling) and sui mai ( meat dumpling ) which they have beef and pork so more variety here and the top thing I like to get here is the ham sui gok( have no idea what it is in English but it's a fried mochi dumpling with meat filling) aka fried football. They do a really good job of frying it here where it's crunchy and not super oily. Some places is too oily and no crunch, this one has just the right balance. They also have lunch plates to go with rice or noodles with 3 or 3 items for like $8.50 or something like that. Not many spots where you can get food for under $10 these days and they have much more variety than Panda Express. This would be more typical Chinese versus Chinese American take out. Sometimes they have a short line but it moves fairly fast and they consistently are making fresh food to refill the trays. I also see they do catering orders as someone came in to pick up like 8 party trays of food while I was there. Taste wise the food is decent. It's not some Michelin star place but food is solid for the price. Now my stars are more ranked price/quality ratio since the price of everything has gone up. But this is a spot where you can still get good bang for your buck. Not really any places to sit there so plan on take out only. Inside you can see what they have to add to your entree meal. I've only been around lunch time on the weekends since that's when I'm craving dim sum but not craving it enough to go wait for a table, then get served and pay more than double for the same type of food. One thing in this area is the parking can be hit and miss so you might need to circle a bit but there is a fair amount of parking on Granada which tends to empty as people are parked shortly just for shopping and getting take out.

My family has been supporters of this place since before the pandemic, and their food is a staple in our household. They have great steamed buns (personally, I like the dai bao/big bun the most). While their prices have gone up, it's still very reasonable and the food is delicious!

Sometimes I just want to grab-&-go rather than do sit down dim sum, so this spot fits the bill. I love Good Mong Kok bakery in Chinatown and Good Luck Dim Sum on Clement in the Richmond district (my hood), but heading deep into the city when I'm now living out on the peninsula is too much effort. Chase Luck bakery as the side piece is an affordable + tasty stand in. I'm old school (like Sun Wah Kue's orange custard pie) so I get the classic dim sum items; i.e. shrimp har gow, pork siu mai, sticky rice in lotus leaf (lo mai gai), and piggy egg custard buns. I usually get an order (3 pieces in 1 order) vs buying individually, but you can totally mix and match -- you'll just annoy the ladies working the counter when you want one of each. Cash is king so bring those dolla bills, y'all. Haven't tried the frozen won tons in the mini freezer by the door but see some old folks grabbing a bag or two. Have not tried their takeaway buffet line but it's gotta be better than anything at Panda Express! Took a star off because I ordered the pork-&-veggie steamed bun (Choi Yuk Bao) and the pork was undercooked/tasted off. Also the big bun (dai bao) had way too much bun and not enough filling. Stick to the classics and you'll be golden!
