Came in on a Friday night, place was empty and slow. Hostess took our order for a dosa and 20 minutes later informed us they had been out of batter since the afternoon. Seems mismanaged and lack of passion from the staff.Didn’t have a chance to taste the food as we left soon after

Nice to find hot Indian vegetarian food in the heart of the city.Walking distance from Fisherman’s Wharf makes it easy to access

Customer Service is fine. and no one was there at lunchtime. Felt the whole restaurant was just for us. Restaurant's ambiance is good and neat. Food was not up to the expectations. Typically didn't tasted like South Indian food. Ordered briyani, kada I chicken, Kottu parotta and ghee dosa. Except the dosa, the rest of the ordered food tasted sweet and flavorless. Not in my visit again list.

Served with a smile, tasty and fast. Parents visited SFO and we stopped by for lunch here in Chennai KINGS. They loved the food taste and portion.Ambience can be improved, otherwise quality and taste is good. We would come again and recommend.

The most ridiculous restaurant I’ve ever been to.Look at the portion size of potato in masala dosa. Sambar is served in small portion and $5 for extra sambar. Extra potato was chargeable too which made me realize they want you to spend extra money for eating a masala dosa. The server was sketchy. Didn’t like the overall vibe. It’s okayish if you’re in SF and want some Indian food but the prices aren’t justified for the food and service you get. Below average experience.

The food was amazing! A few items we got included falooda, chicken kothu porotta, masala dosa, and filter coffee. The service was efficient and the staff were extremely kind. Overall great experience and great Indian food near Fisherman's Wharf.

Great service and food! It was good to have an Indian restaurant in san Fran fisherman’s wharf area. The waitress there (I think her name is Priya) was very helpful as we were tourists. Chicken biryani is a must try.

Chennai Kings restaurant combines family-friendly, decent prices, a cozy ambiance, and attentive service. Opting for the Veg Biryani and Mushroom Masala. The biryani was well-spiced, and the inclusion of vegetables like cauliflower and beans added a delightful crunch. The portion size of the biryani could have been more generous. The Mushroom Masala, initially served on the drier side, was promptly adjusted to my preference when I requested it in gravy form. The staff's responsiveness and willingness to cater to individual tastes deserve commendation. Parking, although on the street, proved to be manageable, and there is an additional paid parking space in nearby for convenience..Parking: Parking, although on the street, proved to be manageable, and there is an additional paid parking space in nearby for convenience..

Bad experience at the restaurant on Christmas Eve. The curries did not have any salt in them. We had to ask for extra salt to make it edible. The other appetizers which included goat sukka and gobi manchurian weren’t good as well. The overall service was extremely slow- we had to keep asking for water and cutlery. Eventually when we paid, we noticed that they charged 18% gratuity even though it’s explicitly mentioned that they only charge this for 6 or more! While they mentioned that this was during Christmas only, they should be mentioning this before hand so that it’s not a surprise. Definitely not recommend going here.
