I got the plantain burrito (usually comes with cheese so make sure to request vegan) and the coconut horchata. My partner got the via via tacos and the watermelon agua fresca, and we shared the coconut ceviche. Plantain burrito - lovely! Great taste, and was large and filling - I only ate half and saved the rest for later. Horchata - not bad, but a little disappointing and not the kind of flavor I'd like. Also a bit of a grainy texture, though that doesn't bother me. Via via tacos - great! I tried a little, and the coconut ranch they use is a nice touch, great flavor. Watermelon agua fresca - I'm not huge on watermelon, but my partner loved it. I also thought it was nice when I tried some. Coconut ceviche - I was especially looking forward to this one because of all the reviews I'd seen mentioning it. It was nice, but for me it fell flat when compared to the burrito and tacos, and to other vegan ceviche I've had. It does seem popular though, so it might be worth a try if you think you might like it. We were there on a Sunday afternoon, and we were the only ones dining there, though we saw a few people pick up deliveries. The space was nice, and it seems like it would be peaceful even with more guests. We spent about $65 total including tax and 20% tip. Updated from previous review on 2025-04-14
Delicious and fresh. Loved the eggplant burrito and jackfruit tacos.

Overpriced, white washed, mediocre food. No plates, just paper trays even though we ate in. Sangria is watered down with juice and is incredibly sweet.

I recently dined at Chisme Cantina and was blown away by their innovative take on Mexican cuisine. The restaurant’s focus on healthy, vegan options really sets it apart, and you can tell the owner/chef pours his heart into every recipe.
I started with the cauliflower ceviche—a dish marinated in coconut milk overnight that was absolutely out of this world. The flavors melded together beautifully, creating a light, refreshing start to my meal.
Next, I tried the vegan tacos featuring eggplant and jackfruit. They were perfectly cooked—neither oily nor greasy—and spiced with a delightful fresh mint sauce that reminded me of mint chutney usually served with Indian tikkas. The addition of a roasted tomato salsa on the side provided a fresh and tangy counterpoint that elevated the entire dish.
Overall, Chisme Cantina is a must-visit for anyone looking to explore a creative, health-conscious twist on traditional Mexican fare. I can’t wait to return and try more of their inventive dishes!

Amazing food, huge portions, very vegan friendly. The jackfruit, plantains and coconut horchata really set this place apart
Great vegan options. Food we had was exceptional and they even made is a vegan dessert that wasn't on the menu! Really friendly guy who served us too!

Great little Mexican place. It’s definitely California fusion and it’s not as spicy as some authentic places. It is very flavorful though. The folks here are super nice and provide quick service. Especially want to point out they have some amazing vegetarian options. I highly recommend the potato, and jack fruit tacos.

As a Mexican I can tell you’ll have a better Mexican experience and food by getting Taco bell tacos rather than these overpriced tacos.
Listen, I LOVE your food. It’s good quality healthy Mexican food. It’s not traditional Mexican food, so understand what you’re in for. Pero like, you stopped making your own chips and started buying bagged chips. Hear me out, I get having to buy chips bc the economy but the chips you’re buying aren’t good. Try the Juanita’s chops you can get them anywhere and they are delicious.
Also your churros are amazing.
