Why is it never open, saw some ppl inside once. And it seemed to be owners. I hasn’t been open in 6 months

This restaurant accepted and then cancelled a delivery order and didn't send any proof so that we wouldn't be able to get the reimbursement. Called through the delivery service and got reimbursed anyway, fortunately. Won't order again. Avoid this place as their practices are dishonest.

Not much to say...Here it is:1. served half-eaten lamp chop (more like 80%)2. I found a rubber band in my naan Will I recommend it? Yeah... I recommend going somewhere else ‍

Sadly this restaurant isn't what it used to be...we have had consistently poor experiences over the last year. Until now that meant we had really long delays for pickup and delivery of an hour+ past when food was supposed to be ready, and receiving lukewarm food. But this time it was that our lamb dish contained multiple pieces of long sinewy pieces raw meat that didn't even look like lamb. I'll spare you a pic!

We ordered takeout directly from their website. Placed the order. Showed up, place is closed.

Do not eat here. It's unsanitary. I've eaten at Clay Oven over a dozen times, and it used to be a semi-weekly go-to. That ended when I found a dead cockroach in my food. Please read their food health inspection history on the department of public health's website—they've had 3 violations for insects and rodents in the past year and a half, and were forced to close in June 2022 due to so many infractions. Avoid.

HORRENDOUS experience. Do not order food from here!! Ordered a Friday night takeaway at 7:20pm. Told it would arrive at 8:20pm. At 8:30pm was called by the restaurant to be told it would be 40 mins late. It’s now 9:35pm and we still have no food. The person managing their phone doesn’t work at the restaurant, so has no idea what is happening. The delivery guy and manager won’t answer the phone. Thanks for ruining our Friday night.Update: It’s 10pm and the food only just arrived. It’s disgusting. Clearly cooked at 7pm, left cold, then reheated. It’s inedible.Never come here.

Was super disappointed. Actually kinda ruined my day last night. After a long day of not eating I went here and bought about 80 dollars worth of food for my family and I for dinner. When I walked in the place was empty and the burners from kitchen were on with food on but no one in sight cooking. After 5 minutes a gentleman comes out of the bathroom all sweaty and says it will be another 7 minutes (originally quoted 25 minutes and arrived 40 minutes because of traffic. When I got home we were forced to throw out our food. It was inedible, our app was completely the wrong order and I had to spit out my food at least 3 bites in until we decided to throw it out. Beyond disappointed and save your money, time, and headache.

Some of the best Indian food I've had

My go to takeout spot when I don't feel like going everywhere but want to treat myself. So far, the best malai kofta I've had in SF! Can't speak for service/eating in, but haven't had any problems with takeout/delivery.

By far my favorite Indian restaurant in the city. The owner Babu has worked here for decades and has created such a pleasant atmosphere. He is very friendly, I recommend trying his chicken tika masala.

Love this place, great local spot. Humble interior with a little bar where you can sit and eat in or wait for takeout. Their staff is so friendly and accommodating. They run a lean operation so be patient on timing. Their garlic naan has turmeric in it which I love, and the chicken tikka masala is so flavorful! These guys are my go-to for takeout orders.

I literally created a Yelp account just to write this review. The chicken tikka masala was the best I've ever had, and I get it every time I go to an Indian spot. It was so tasty and not so tomato-y like other places. The potato naan was soo good. Not super fluffy, a lot of potato, a bit of salt and perf texture. The server was also the chef, and even though he was doing it all himself he was SO considerate and sweet- an amazing server. And the gulab jamun(?) omg. Go here for good Indian food. There was also someone feasting alone, which says a lot about the place.

This was a nice surprise. There was only one man at the restaurant when we got there. He was doing double duty as waiter/cook. I was surprised that the restaurant was so empty, since it was Friday night. We were the only ones in there the entire time. It felt like the twilight zone. The food was really good and the service was as good as it could've been , considering he was a one-man show. I had the Chicken korma and it was so divine. Even my vegetarian friend had to dip her naan into the sauce because it was so damn good.
