Absolutely love this lil gem. Saw it on my way to my car after dinner and decided to went in for one drink. So glad I did. One drink turned into two if I didn't have to drive it probably would've turned into five Loved the whole vibe of this bar and the music. The bartender was my fave. He was so sweet and friendly and his drinks are the best. It was strong and surprisingly cheap. Had a good time and I will definitely be back. Thank you!

We only came in to hydrate with a beer and a coke but the conversation, the ambiance, the music was great and we plan to come again whenever we are noin the neighborhood :)

The reason I keep coming back to Clooney's is because of Monty, the bartender on Saturday evenings. He is the best! Some snacks, good music, mood lighting, good conversation--all to be had here at one of the few, true local dive bars left here in the city. Also love the horseshoe-shaped bar!

This little dive bar is my home away from home. Though I've moved from the city & now live in LA, I can always count on this little gem of a dive bar to bring back my best memories of the city. Monty is also the best, if you visit during his shift, he always makes sure you are welcome & that you feel at home.

Clooney's is a classic San Francisco dive bar, a dive bar that is rapidly disappearing from our fair city, being replaced by overpriced theme bars. They have a great beer selection and TVs with games on and a decent jukebox. I recommend going on Saturdays, when Monty is tending the stick. He is quick and attentive yet always friendly. The crowd can look rough, as dive-bar crowds generally look, but the Clooney crowd is mellow. Young white folks might be disturbed by the diversity, but pay them no heed: they'll find solace in the Marina.

I am writing this review strictly for my very favorite person/bartender Monty. I was never much of a person that hung out at bars. I found them to be for one purpose and one purpose only, to get drunk. I went there on a Saturday night with a friend, feeling out of place. Monty immediately caught on to that. He found some wine for me and filled my glass. We then had lovely conversation. His calm, friendly, confident attitude made me feel very comfortable and safe. He is the reason for 5 stars!!! Check out his candlelight ambiance and freshly popped popcorn on Saturday nights. He will not disappoint!
My go to Saturday night hang out. Mostly to chat with Monty the bartender. Always smiling and upbeat, even when the crowd can be a wee bit hard to deal with at times from his perspective. (Some folks just don't know how to behave correctly). The thing is, you can't miss the fact that he bartends, provides security, keeps the environment friendly and safe, and is the janitorial staff as needed. The pool table is always a nice way to get social with others.

What's that saying? Don't judge a book by its cover. My friends and I were leaving El Rio and got invited to Clooney's by a stranger. I had no idea what was to come. So many great memories with my friends. This is where we all end up on Saturday nights. Yes, it's a dive bar. Yes, the drinks are strong and the bartender is the best. Yes, it's the unique mix of what our city represents. Everyone is welcome. Monty is one of the best bartenders in San Francisco. I have had some epic nights here and you will too. Great jukebox, fun pool table and meeting diverse people that I would not otherwise.

This review is way overdue! Sure, fancy cocktail bars have their place in the city, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't more at home in a dive bar - there's nothing quite like it! That's why I keep coming back to Clooney's year after year. I'm usually here on Saturday nights when Monty is bartending. He's always got a smile on his face and will make anyone feel at home, whether they're a regular or if it's their first time. Not sure what you want to drink? That's no problem, he'll come up with something that's exactly what you never knew you wanted. And he always makes sure that there's some great music playing on the jukebox. Oh, they even decorate the bar at Christmastime and turn it into a winter wonderland! To top it all off, Monty will make popcorn for the patrons, so nobody is drinking on an empty stomach. Can't recommend this place enough!
