We were sad to hear that Sam is closing this restaurant at the end of this month to retire! It has been our go-to place to celebrate birthdays and other special occasions. Good by, Columbini, we enjoyed you for years!

Food was great, but the service was a bit rough.

After a year in North America, this is the first place where I've found Italian food that truly reminds me of real Italian cuisine! The pasta, in particular, is worth trying: perfectly cooked with delicious, flavorful sauces.

This was just the kind of restaurant I was searching for. Great ambiance, really good Italian food and fine wine. There were some regulars in there that added to the whole vibe, very friendly.
I think the owner was the server, it was so cool. There was a feeling of familiarity to the place, even though I had never been there before. When I return to the city I will stop by this charming little gem again.

Amazing food in a small setting. I can’t remember a better meal, especially at the price! Would definitely return.

Boutique little Italian gem next to our hotel in Nob Hill. The Sicilian Red Wine and hand made gluten free pasta was amazing as was my husbands seafood pasta. Perfecto Bravo!

Dietary restrictions: Brilliantly they made me gluten free pasta and it was the best I’ve ever had!

I was right next door to the Colombini Italian Bistro visiting my pal Gregorian Calendãr, and all sudden the kitchen timer chimes in, and he pops up yelling..."The soup is ready!" He flys out of his flat saying "I'll be back in 5 minutes" as he slammed the door behind him. Well, that Bon Vivant, Man about Town went nextdoor to the Colombini Italian Bistro and snagged some Amazing soup...it was Spectacular to say the least! ☆☆☆☆☆

We popped in for a meal after viewing the menu outside. It’s a small place but we loved it. It was quiet. We didn’t have to wait long for our food once we’d ordered, and it was delicious. We shared a garlic bread and lasagne (we are not big eaters). If we lived in San Francisco, it would definitely become a regular for us!

Stumbled upon this place because it was near our hotel, and we were very happy that we did! Freshly made pasta from the kitchen, along with pleasant service and delicious food and wine made for a wonderful dinner experience!

A small restaurant which no longer accepts customers from 8:30 p.m. and also which only offers 2 or 3 dishes throughout the rest of the menu, it is not possible and adds an extra $10 for fresh pasta without warning…. .
Very good food but very expensive for what it is…

If the place seemed pleasant and pretty at first glance, the tempting menu, our enchantment quickly faded. In fact, when placing an order, all the dishes we requested were refused. All that's left is a lasagna, spaghetti bolognese,... In short, 3 or 4 possible choices on the fortnight's menu. At 8:15 p.m. We decide to order anyway. The cook (who also seems to be the boss) asks us if we want fresh pasta or spaghetti. We opt for fresh pasta. The dishes served are very good and that makes up for the disillusionment at the time of ordering. Throughout the meal, customers enter the restaurant to dine but are turned away under the pretext that the kitchen is closed. It's not even 9 p.m. Once our meal is finished, we are not even given the choice of having dessert, we are brought directly with the bill. Quite a high bill for 4 people (more than $120) and we were surprised to see that we were charged $10 per person for fresh pasta. What the cook/boss failed to tell us. Why accept customers if you can't give them a decent experience? Why not advise on exact prices? In short, an experience that could have been exceptional but in the end was just disappointing.

From 8 p.m. there is nothing available on the menu. We were offered both the wine list and the dessert menu. And they charge you $10 on top of $26 for fresh pasta.

Proper pizza. Hard to find such a good pizza nowadays. Place itself look like a nice for a date or quiet meeting with friend. Guys working there complete the whole. I would eat there everyday.
