Coqueta has been a go to for me but the food last night was so disappointing. Ham croquettes that were only bechamel with no ham or anything else! Not hot. Calamari overdone and again not hot. The kale salad was excellent but everything else mediocre. Also wine pour was very skimpy. Service was friendly and fantastic but the food was a letdown. We were told it's a new menu— wish they'd return to the old one.
Pretty much summarized in your questions. All was very good but, frankly, the food was good but not great.
The BEAUTY of the restaurant itself and the surroundings is exceptional. All of the wait staff were warm and welcoming from seating to leaving. The tapas were delicious! Even the mocktail was delicious! My date and I were not disappointed in any way!
Food was absolutely deeeeelish. Portions are definitely small so be sure to ask your served approx size of plate/# of pieces. We sat indoors as it was a bit chilly that day and the warmth from the kitchen made it very cozy! The patates bravas were so creamy and tasty. The squash dish was also a highlight! As was the crème brûlée! Enjoy!
Service is nice but far too fast. No time to eat a plate that all the meals were already delivered and then eaten cold despite asking to slow down.
We booked a table at 7:30pm but they kept us waiting until 8. Unacceptable. Although the food was good
Great food and solid service. Highlights are the datiles and the Jamon Iberico. The food is meant to be shared with fun tapas and oversized main courses. We will be going back soon.
Really bad experience yesterday. Cucumber with dates doesn't go together, coquettes with grapefruit makes no sense, lamb meatballs were so mushy, potatoes were bland, eggplant thing was so heavy... The sangrias was awesome though.
We enjoyed our lunch at Coqueta! The food, sangria and service was superb! We were celebrating a birthday and they brought a special birthday cake at the end. We were there for almost 3 hours, but they never rushed us to leave, kept bringing us water, and we just had a very relaxing lunch. We will be back for sure.
Amazing service, we felt welcomed like they knew us for a long time. We travelled from New Jersey to San Francisco and husband made sure to visit Coqueta, we were not disappointed at all. We look forward to have another opportunity to visit.

Love the place but was not impressed with the food or the service. And too pricey for the quality.
Food was amazing! Our server was very attentive and provided guidance on the amount and variety of tapas to order. Can't wait to go back!
Have come here off and on since it opened. Food is good but prices are crazy. $42 for a tiny brazino fish?? $18 for a glass of wine? IMO this is a special occasion restaurant or for those with very deep pockets or robust expense accounts. Even with the recognition that it's SF
The restaurant was not what we were expecting, food was normal with some non Spanish ingredients (Huevos rotos without actual fries) and the steak was very poor.
Excellent food and service, good table spacing so didn't feel crowded and we weren't rushed. Good choice of cocktails, beers, and wine as well. All staff were very attentive and helpful. Had a wonderful lunch.
