Authentic flavors of Spain, small plates, excellent service, good quality food, good for tourists
The food (ex paella, octopus, grilled pork was awesome. The suggested wine by the server was just as a great. What a gem with the view.
Great food section and flavors
Antonio was out server. He was amazing. Could you please let him know his kindness and attention to detail r amazing!
Delicious tapas on the water and the bar staff is so fun and kind.
Very good presentation of food and lovely ambience
The space and decor here are well done; there's seating indoors, outdoors and in covered space. Service was attentive. The food was solid- well prepared and tasty. I would recommend it.
A consistently good restaurant. The food and drinks are solid. Portion sizes for tapas are decent. Reasonably priced for San Francisco as well.
Food came fast and good service. Highly recommend the tomahawk. Ensalada de kale and ensalada de remolacha were good (forgot to take pics of both) as were the gambas negras and pulpo a la parilla (very tender) (forgot to take a pic of the pulpo as well). We ordered the Paella Mar y Montana which was very good. I would pass on the Setas al Ajillo (mushrooms) which was VERY salty. Skip the Patatas Bravas and Croquetas de Pollo as well - nothing special. For dessert the Tarta de Queso Manchego with raspberry sorbet was excellent. The Tarta de Chocolate served with mango sorbet was good but very rich and decadent. If you're a chocolate lover, this is your dessert!
The ambience and service were perfect. The food was just average.

Open Table recommended this as a “romantic restaurant” so I booked it for my spouse‘s birthday but it was pretty meh as a special occasion location. The outdoor area barely has a view. We were right on Market Street with pedestrian and cars right next to us. Our server was working hard, but had a very large area to cover. We ordered a paella and two appetizers, the paella came first, one of the appetizers never arrived. We mentioned that when we asked for the bill and our server offered us an extra drink, which was appreciated. I had noted in the reservation that were celebrating my spouse‘s birthday, there was no acknowledgment by the host or server that we were here for a celebration. In contrast, we had gone to La Mar for my birthday, had a seat facing at the water, received a handwritten card and comped dessert. Coqueta is great for a casual meet up, but for a special occasion, I would suggest elsewhere.
The first time we ate here was 3 years ago and so we came back and enjoyed it just as much! The tapas (both cold and hot) were delicious. We ordered the Salmon, Gambas, Croquetas and Pulpo - staples we order at every tapas restaurant we go to. None of them disappointed and it was hard to pick a favorite! For the finale of the meal - we had to order the 32oz Tomahawk Steak cooked on their Wood Grill! We love that they presented the steak to us before having the kitchen slice it. What a great presentation and worth the price we paid for it. The sangria unfortunately did leave a lot to be desired and the ambiance of sitting outside was not what we expected - quite chilly and the screeches of seagulls, but we were able to move inside and while it was on the ledge seating and not on a table, it was a much better experience. Definitely need to make a reservation and specify to sit indoors at a table for added comfort.
We had, once again an incredible experience at Coqueta last night! The ambiance was vibrant and welcoming, and every dish we tried was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious—truly a showcase of creative Spanish cuisine. The service was equally impressive: attentive, friendly, and thoughtful throughout the meal. We left feeling happy, satisfied, and already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommended!
Coqueta always delivers. Though it's tempting to order everything on the menu, it's better to be deliberate and order a few things to start with. Cocktails are clever and creative so try something outside your comfort zone. Sharing is a must. Staff is very attentive but not smothering and water is always refilled before necessary. Do save room for dessert!
Amazing dining experience we had a very knowledgeable server who was accommodating to my food allergies. All the food was incredible accompanied by beautiful views of the bay bridge!!
