As a pastry chef who as know about this place for many years and looked forward to my visit I am left incredibly disappointed. In fact totally turned off. It takes a lot for me to leave a bad review nowadays as I feel if I have nothing nice to say don’t say anything at all but if you are beyond rude then forget about it.
The lady with died red hair was one of the rudest service members I’ve ever come across and the fact she stood there with her arms crossed waiting for a tip after the fact is such a slap in the face.
My wife who sees the good in everyone was even pissed off at how she treated us.

Great food and pastry but the staff is rude and don’t seem to want to be there.

Extremely rude and incompetent service. Every time I come in here the lady at the cashier gives me the most foul attitude. Pastries are great though!

When I order my ice coffee to go, they never seem to fill it to the top.
If i ask for light ice, they always seem to fill the cup up full of ice. Pretty annoying

"Craftsman & Wolves" can be used for breakfast or brunch
Tartine Bakery is definitely famous in the Mission Area, but this time I chose this one. It was a place with a rustic and simple interior, a fresh bakery, and a wide variety of drinks. There is also a wide variety of pastries that are perfect for breakfast. I can't help but notice it. I chose banana bread, croissant, cinnamon roll, and iced coffee.

Long overdue review. Great place for food and pastries. Just be a word of precaution-years ago our family got sick from the rebel (the soft boil egg was a little too runny). We did call the restaurant and they were accommodating but we live far away.

Craftsman and Wolves really perfected baked goods with eggs. The Orange Shakshuka Stack with the runny egg was one of the best pastries I had in a long time. The ‘rebel within’ is always great as well.

This bakery had been on my list for a while and now I know why the chef was a James Beard finalist for pastry innovation. The desserts are beautiful and while I did not try any of the wild offerings like the Rebel Within or the Bees in Provence, I did enjoy the morning bun which should only be consumed while it is warm or else it is rather dry. The triple chocolate croissant was rich and delicious, but not too sweet. The banana travel cake was good as was the hazelnut financier which is their only gluten free option. The chocolate chip cookie was yummy. However, I saved the best for last, the black sesame kouign amann was to die for! Again, please heat before you consume and you will also fall in love.

I was in a rush when I placed my order and did not notice that I was overcharged until I left, however, a quick phone call rectified the situation and I was promptly credited for the overage.

This café is an excellent choice for anyone looking for a calm and pleasant spot in San Francisco. The coffee is top-notch, with a well-balanced flavor, and the pastries, especially the muffin, stand out for their soft texture and delicious taste without being too sweet. The atmosphere is relaxed, perfect for spending some time, and the staff is super friendly, which makes the experience even better. It’s definitely become one of my favorite cafés in the city. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a cozy place to enjoy a good drink and pastry.

This coffee shop has such good vibes! The coffee was sooo yummy. The pastries we tried were okay, but I’m excited to go back and try the other ones.

Craftsman and Wolves always delivers. Picked out a few choice desserts for my birthday celebration, and each of them was so unique, and absolutely delightful.

Egan’s Addiction - likely mine as well now; this Taiwanese high mountain oolong dessert was captivating - as I cut myself a slice, I marveled in the layers of matcha and strawberry panna cotta. Brilliant. Paired perfectly with my favorite high mountain Taiwanese oolong alongside.

Passion Olive Yuzu Cloud - a dreamy, fluffy passionfruit yuzu bite. Airy and delicious.

Bees in Provence - loved the mascarpone and subtle lavender taste. Work of art.

Rose Garden Stone - I love all of Craftsman and Wolves’ stones, but this one might be my new favorite. Lychee and rose is always a banging combination, and this one is absolutely perfect and the almond dentelle / sake pound cake base layer complements this perfectly.

When I think of peak pastry perfection in San Francisco, Craftsman and Wolves comes to mind for me. Grab something from the case. Or one of everything, you can’t really go wrong here.
