Went to this place to try out something new for restaurant week. The food was simple but very good and I enjoyed the down home vibe. Planning to go back with my niece and nephew as they had a $12 prix fixe kids menu that looked tasty. For now, I recommend the salmon and the bread pudding.
The food is good, atmosphere is sweet. I wish they would give an itemized bill and not just a lump sum. With all the extra taxes etc. today I like to tip on the service/food not on the taxes and since I couldn't decipher, that bothered me. Other than that, a nice neighborhood spot.
The Curbside Café’s proprietor, Olivier Perrier, is truly a San Francisco example of a passionate and lasting small biz restauranteur in every sense – efficient, gracious, thoughtful, consistent, and charming. My parents, brother and I came here since he first opened his little café off Fillmore on California for many years, every Friday for a late lunch. Due to family health issues, we came less frequently for several years but returned over the last couple years post the Pandemic. Remarkably since our return, the food has been as consistently delicious, the service as charming and personal and the atmosphere as comfortable and amusing as it has always been! I don’t usually write reviews (though I often read others) but the Curbside Café’s quality moved me to write this one. I have lived and visited Paris during my career. The Curbside Café claims its place as a piece of authenticity as a small San Francisco café in both my magical City by the Bay and The City of Light.
Authentic ambience of a small Franch bistro in the heart of San Francisco. Staple food prepared at very high level of quality. French owner also functions as the busy, efficient server with genuine interest in customers. Includes extensive fine breakfast/brunch menu, I believe available til 4 pm. I am not a wine enthusiast so can't meaningfully comment on the wines, but there is a large choice of them. Restaurant has a big neighborhood following, but should be of real interest to visitors too. Pure "joe de vivre".
Decided to get breakfast around San Francisco & by far was the best option , they aren’t open on sundays but today they were, calling to reserve a table of 7 people was so smooth no complications when doing so and the wait time was about 14 minutes. Besides getting a table there the interior was rather a small space but they make it work making sure the customer has enough room to eat and enjoy their time. Their menu had rather multiple options today we went with the huevos rancheros and an order of French toast. The eggs were very delicious but be aware the tortillas are actually apart of the dish and added below the eggs. The French toast were beautifully displayed as many have said but the taste of them are actually incredible! The toast is definitely more on the smaller portion but very filling. Overall the employees were all very friendly despite the rush hour.
The place looks pretty simple, but it is a good brunch spot! The prices are decent and the serving size is huge. I had the Salmon Omelette. I was happy with the amount of salmon in it. The potatoes were really well seasoned too!
I love Curbside. When I lived closer to it, I was there about every other week! Consistently good food and a charming, cozy space. The owner, Oliver, is a lovely person and always has good recommendations to make! My favorites are the field greens salad, the chicken piccata and Mediterranean chicken penne but the specials are also great to try.
I really liked this small restaurant that serves French & American food. I enjoyed their French onion soup and my husband likes their Eggs Benedict.... We will definitely be back.....
We had a marvelous time and the food was so delicious. Intrigued recommend this place. The ambience is cozy and we truly felt like their were cooking just for us. I can't wait to go back.
Location The original 1978 location! Serving San Francisco exceptional no-frills French food since then. From 2001-2008 they had an outpost right outside of the Lyon street steps near the Presidio. Ambiance Super cozy and hygge, bistro-style seating comfortably seating groups of up to 6. They also have a parklet out front with many heaters to keep all diners warm and comfortable. Service Olivier served us out in the parklet because this particular night there was a buvout in the restaurant for what looked like a company holiday dinner. Mr. Perrier was prompt, polite, and super gracious to all our needs. We felt incredibly comforted, like dining in his home. Hope to see him next time Stuart and I return! Food French classics- just incredibly tasty. Olivier filled us in that he likes serving simple dishes that don't demand the hands of 5 different chefs. It was cold so we started with some hot chocolate, which was dusted with a crunchy spice mix. To start we had French Onion Soup which paired perfectly with the freshly baked house bread. The cheese had a great melty pull which we couldn't help but comment on. The onions in there were perfectly caramelized and bathing in a wonderfully tangy onion broth. For our entrees we had two specials, the rack of lamb with frites, and a filet mignon with mashed potatoes and zucchini. Both came in a delicious red wine reduction and veggies, and I felt both dishes were perfectly portioned. We were so full from our meals we didn't have room for dessert, but will definitely return to try Olivier's recommendation of the Mango Cheesecake.

Cute authentic local spot, with French owners. Decor is a little tired but i appreciate the “classic” feel of the place, in contrast to all the shiny new objects that are always popping up.
Very nice small restaurant that has great food. When we got there at 6:30, it was dead, but it livened up shortly after that. I had crab cakes that were quite good. I was slightly disappointed by the bread pudding, which was a bit hard. However, overall it was a great experience.
My friend and I went for restaurant week. Amazing food. The escargot and French onion soup was delightful for apps. The filet mignon was cooked to perfection. Finally, the dessert (crème brûlée and chocolate mousse) was to die for! Highly recommend.
This place has a wonderful ambiance and the food is very delicious, this is my first time here but i definitely will be back when im around. Service is phenomenal props to oliver may your journey be full of blessings ? .
The Curbside Cafe was superb from start to finish. It's a very quaint, typically Parisian space with only a few tables. We were a family group of five who stopped by for a late lunch at a quiet time, but it would also be a perfect romantic spot for a couple or a date later in the evening. The waiter / proprietor was incredibly attentive, knowledgable and friendly, really impressive, and on top of it all, the food was thoroughly enjoyable, with fantastic wine to accompany. Can't recommend it enough!
