Great brunch cafe with good value for your buck! Ordered a Pho for lunch and the sizing was massive. It was hot, good portions of meat, and the service was quick, friendly, and professional.
Would highly recommend this location.

This is a great spot for breakfast and lunch in an unassuming location. The service is super friendly and food very tasty. The menu offers all the basic American breakfast options while lunch and dinner have Vietnamese items like pho and fried rice. Most importantly the hospitality is A+!

Tried Darren’s Cafe while in San Francisco and really liked it. The food was tasty, came out quick, and the prices were pretty reasonable. Staff was super friendly and made the place feel welcoming. Definitely a spot I’d come back to.

Darren’s Cafe has the best breakfast I have found in San Francisco so far. I arrived here right when they opened. The service was friendly and incredibly fast. We were in and out in around 20 minutes. The French toast was very good and the eggs were cooked perfectly. I would recommend stopping here if you are looking for breakfast in the area. They have a very large menu. I only included pictures of breakfast as that is what I was there for.

Three of us came here for Brunch this morning, 9/4/25. Service was very good, waiter was very attentive. Food was average to above average relative to the price, average plate price was $23 and coffee was $4.50 more each. That made this very expensive for what we got as portions were small and served on a giant plate which made them look even smaller.
Dungeoness Crab Benedict was okay, a little paprika on the hollendaise would have been a nice touch.
Overall, for a restaurant smack Dab in the center of the most touristy area of San francisco, it met expectation (both good and bad). Further, if I was in the same situation as I was this morning, I'd come back here and probably even have the same dish. That's worth 3.5 rounded to 4 stars.

This was so good. We visited for breakfast right before leaving town but I wish we were there later so I could try some of the afternoon offerings. It’s a small little place just a block away from the beaten path and everything was delicious. They offer “American breakfast” all day and also have Vietnamese dishes for lunch and dinner. Indoor and outdoor seating available.
They have a variety of food had breakfast today maybe we can have dinner tonight

A hidden gem in San Francisco. The food was delicious and well prepared. The coffee was great and staff were very friendly. We ordered scrambled eggs and bacon with French toast. Nothing fancy just delicious for $17.
They’ve been in business for quite a while, and much of the staff has remained working there. That says a lot. No problem, next time I’ll say no salt.
Recommend.
