There were very few positives, but I will start there. The tea selection is fantastic and the place is adorable. However, the overall experience was disappointing not worth the price. We had a reservation for 2:30 and did not get the tea menu until 3:10 pm. We were ignored for another 20 minutes before they finally decided to treat us as if we hadn't surprised them with a visit. They were scrambling to put it all together and mentioned that they weren't expecting us...even though I made the reservation in advance and paid the deposit, which they confirmed receiving. Still, if you're unsure, one would think a phone call to confirm the reservation wouldn't have been too much trouble? Then, they failed to prepare for the 2 vegans in our party - again, I had text messages confirming they could accommodate. No apology and they instead tried to blame us for not confirming in advance. They emphasized how hard they would try to accommodate us on the spot. I assumed the deposit and my request in the initial communication was exactly for that purpose but for some reason, they didn't bother preparing for a confirmed reservation. The first tier for the two vegans was literally a fruit salad with balsamic vinaigrette. The sandwiches were edible and the final tier was (again) strawberries with a fig bar and a few pieces of chocolate. They brought some toasted buns after our experience was over to accompany the jam that had been sitting on their plate for an hour. It was laughable to think about how much money we had spent on a plate of fruit. I couldn't help but apologize to my friends throughout the entire experience. If you'd rather not be in that position, go somewhere else. There are plenty of places in SF that won't make you feel like they did you a favor by serving you.
What a fun and endearing place to go, and a must see for anyone visiting the Bay area. I was so impressed by the quality and flavor profiles of the food they served with the yummy teas. There were so many great varieties of teas to choose from to fit the unique experience you want to have. I will definitely come back to this place and bring other people so they can enjoy the experience with me.
I had the pleasure of meeting Keith and Pauline, the owners of DarTealing during my Afternoon Tea. Keith was very knowledgeable of each tea and offered great recommendations to try for each of our different palettes, while Pauline does an amazing job pairing the teas with her handmade pastries and creative sandwiches. Both are a dynamic duo! I was lucky enough to find DarTealing because of one review that read that they offered a Gluten Free tea experience. It is incredibly hard to find a High Tea or Afternoon Tea location in the city that offers Gluten free sandwiches or cookies, etc. I made my appointment online, and received a response pretty quickly! For any dietary restrictions, it is preferred that you notify them at least one day prior to your reservation, so Pauline can prepare. All of their sandwiches/ cookies/ desserts are creatively crafted in house. Our tea experience was one of a kind! We loved how quaint the cafe. The china and utensils were so cute. Parking isn't bad at all. Sundays are free right out in front, or you can park on the left side of the shop (on Stillman St). They are only open on weekends, so make sure to book an appointment ahead of time to secure your spot. We will definitely be coming back.
Dietary restrictions: They offer Vegan, Gluten Free, Dairy Free options! Just call ahead to make sure they can accommodate.

The Owners and staff are very knowledgeable about tea. They easily crafted an experience that you will remember for a life time with their approach, sandwiches, snacks, and tea selections. I'm living in Arizona and plan to order tea to support and be sure to return when I'm in the area. Thanks Keith and everyone at Dartealing. You're all awesome.

I brought my 13 year old granddaughter here for her first proper Tea. We had wonderful service, a vegan meal was prepared for me and a typical meal was made for her. Everything was very tasty. My granddaughter loved the food so much she ate it all in a matter of minutes! She loved the hole experience, an so did I. We recommend this tea room for your future tea event!
Dietary restrictions: I am vegan, and they provided a lovely meal for me.

Always a stunning experience! My daughter and I come here every 3-6 months. We delight in the charming atmosphere, attentive service, house-made tea blends, and fantastic delicious creative rotating menu! The house made scones are to die for! Thank you Pauline and team for another delightful experience!!!
Parking: We find parking on the street on Sundays to be particularly easy and free.

Cozy. Like being at an English grandma's house. Wonderful service. Nicest folks.
Vegetarian options: Notify of any dietary restrictions at time of reservation so they have time to plan a delicious tea service

Came here with a friend Saturday 1pm. The place was very full. Reservation was recommended but they let us walk-in. (Thank you!
Great atmosphere. Service is good. Attentive but not too much.
Food is good. Savory bites were somewhat creative. Sweet items were good too. My favorite was the matcha tart.
The tea was average though.
Overall good for its price. I could see this place perfect for a team building lunch/afternoon tea.

Amazing experience! I'm a big fan of tea like this. I don't live in the SF area so this was my first time here. This is an independent tea house, not a tea in a luxury hotel like I was used to. The quality of the tea and snacks was comparable with the big fancy hotel I usually go to in my area, but at a fraction of the price. There was a huge selection of teas and they give you a lot. The tower in this pic is for 4 people and it was plenty, we even had leftovers. The pots are one per person. It was street parking only and in an area with a sports stadium so keep in mind when making a reservation the area could be crowded due to a game. We did find parking a few blocks away.

Best afternoon tea I’ve had in SF. A proper afternoon tea! And our luck today on the menu, they had a fusion scone which was the chef’s take on sticky rice mango dessert and it was to die for! Can’t recommend this place enough.
Vegetarian options: We were celebrating my friend’s birthday with an afternoon tea and she is vegetarian. Their vegetarian were just as delicious. So we were both very happy with our meal

I have traveled the world and had afternoon tea services everywhere. The food that comes out of this tea shop is some of the best in the world. Please come with an empty stomach as you'll want to eat everything twice.

Visited 4/28 before a Giants game. This place made the whole street corner smell good as we waited for the doors to open. Their reservation process sounds more complicated than it was. Once I filled out the form on their website, the rest was done via text and my reservation was confirmed within minutes. Service was awesome! It's a prix fixe menu so you just need to tell them the tea that you'd like. I opted to pay an extra $5.25 to have their memories of Saigon blooming tea. It comes in a glass tea pot and opens as it sits in the water. Tea was good but the blooming part (really slow bloom) sounded cooler than it actually was so I'll stick to one of the cheaper teas next time. Warm scones and cream were my favorite part! They don't have a parking lot but metered street parking on Stillman St was super easy to find. It's limited to an hour though. Our tea time visit was an hour and 15 min.

The food was really good, even when they were kind of simple sandwiches, they tasted really good. The only complain is the wait time. Not sure if we went on a day when they were understaffed but it took a bit more than 30minutes after the time of our reservation for our food to be served.Other than that, I highly recommend it.

It is amazing how delicious this food was and how complex the teas tasted. It is highly recommended to make a reservation first, but after waiting they allowed us to walk-in.Atmosphere cannot get better. I only have two suggestions:There is one waitress that doesn’t smile at all and speaks quietly, so service could be better. Our table had crumbs as if it was not totally cleaned.Highly recommended.
