Simply excellent food and ambience. The place has a real old school diner feel about right in the middle of the city.

This is an absolute gem of a place. If you want that authentic diner feel with great food and great service then head over to David’s. Yes it may be a bit run down and yes it’s not in the greatest area of town but the food and the service are second to none. George was super friendly and attentive without ever actually interrupting us while having our breakfast. He answered all of our questions, he took time to have a chat with us and generally made us fell special.

I think they named it after me or was it the other way around I don't know but either way it was fun sharing some potato latkes and some challah bread and lox and other Jewish specialties with my family.

The pancakes were a shame to america & the maple syrup a shame to Canada. I was so disappointed when I saw my breakfast coming, the pancakes had a very strong taste of baking powder, it wasn’t fluffy too. The maple syrup is the baddest I never tasted. The hot chocolate was over sweet, the fruits were tasteless. I couldn’t even eat more than a bite or drink more than a sip.

Classic diner with quick service and tasty options. I ordered matzo ball soup. Comfort food on a cold day.

TOURIST TRAP
Menu and signs say they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner all day. They do not. Hashbrown weren't brown, but the omlette was despite being runny on the inside. Toast was served dry and cold, which sucks because the butter was served cold, too! Seems like the place was good in its heyday but has since decayed in quality as evident but the aging and poorly maintained establishment. Very expensive for what it is. 15 to 20 for a bagel sandwich. Does not take cash.
Great service, food, and value.

This place seems like a hidden gem. The oldschool counter was really fun to sit down and enjoy a solo morning in the city. The gentlemen working the breakfast counter were super sweet, and the vegan tofu scramble was bangin. Plus the prices were VERY affordable especially for this section of the city. Don’t miss David’s.

Lunch at the bar in a place that catapults you directly into the 1950s due to its furnishings and background music. The hot pastrami sandwich and the corned beef are truly excellent and are accompanied with a very good potato salad and coleslaw. Friendly and welcoming staff

We went to breakfast here 3 days in a row it was that good! Reasonably priced, good portions, and amazing service. The best bacon around, and amazing French toast. My other party got cornbeef and hash, which he loved so much he got it almost every time we went there. The plates were huge, enough food that we got breakfast and didn’t need to eat again till late afternoon
