Daymoon is “mid” as a Gen Z would say. I was disappointed because the reviews here looked good.

There’s minimal indoor seating and a medium amount of outdoor seating. Went on a Thursday afternoon and got a flat white with oat milk and chocolate chip cookie. The service was flat, without a smile, and unenthusiastic. The flat white lacked the smoothness factor and IMO it tasted like the beans were either old or not stored properly. I actually disliked the coffee so much I ordered a hibiscus mint tea, which lacked flavor. So a miss on both drinks.

The chocolate chip cookie was just okay, it was dipped in what tasted like dark chocolate. I didn’t prefer it. They also only had about 6 pastries to choose from, otherwise it was just bread and you could order some food. Idk, when I hear bakery I think pastries.

Lastly, it’s LOUD. They have the music turned up to where it’s hard to focus if you’re having a conversation. It was a bit unnerving when they played “Tiptoe Through the Tulips” on blast. If you’ve watched Insidious, then you hate this song. Lol. Overall, just an okay experience. I think next time I’ll skip this place and walk down the street to get a coffee from Blackbird and a pastry from Braid Bakery.

This is becoming one of my favorite bakeries in the city, along with Arizmendi and Tartine. Their bread is my favorite - dense and chewy but still fluffy. They also have amazing scones and sandwiches. And lovely people.

I come here at least once per week because it's my favorite bread in sf (the world?). Their rotating pastries are consistently delicious. Oh my god don't get me started on the focaccia.

Might be a long line but it should move fast. Very interest flavors and pastries and breads. Recommend coming with some friends and trying a lot. Menu is not super big.

A bit pretentious for the neighborhood, staff a bit snooty to me, there are cozier and friendlier cafes in the sunset to support over this one. Also no dog treats or pup cups? My dog disapproved too

Cute parklet shielded from ocean breeze on lower bench. Higher bench allows ocean view. Also tables and chairs outside. Excellent apple/ginger scone, everything squash scone. Sesame bun needs something on it which is an option. Bathroom very clean and easy to access.

Like most people on google maps i only give 1 and 5 star reviews. This is one of my 5 star reviews. Day Moon is my favorite type of moon. Seeing the moon during the day is certainly a treat.
