The price of a beer is too much, but I’m willing to pay it thanks to the atmosphere of the place. The mood is gorgeous, the employees are really welcoming, I recommend.

One star since I was overcharged (amount hitting my card is more than what I signed) and I cannot get a hold of anyone at the contact number (also no response to voicemail). Also not happy with the bartender.
I came for the Swing dance on Wednesday, and the bartender was really pushy, constantly reminding me that there is a 2 drink minimum. I had initially ordered 1 cocktail and then later food, and before she put my food order in, kept emphasising the 2 drink requirement (that food did not meet it) and even though I told her I'll order another one soon, she kept pushing so I just ordered a beer. Finished and closed out (auto gratuity and a fee for card transaction, really??). 2 days later, noticed I had been charged more on my card than the close out amount. Tried to contact on the number listed on Google, and left a voicemail, but no response. Will raise a complaint with my card company now, but folks beware. The place itself is nice, and while I enjoyed the cocktail and the Swing dance class, the pushy bartender and the overcharge is not to be tolerated

This bar is SO FUN!! The drinks are amazing, the bartenders and James are amazing. The sound system is so good and the dance floor is the perfect size. One of my favorite places in SF

Decodance is a vibrant and welcome addition to Lower Polk. It is upbeat and offers a jazzy alternative to bars full of screens of sports and people staring at their phones. Bartender Judith is a delight.

There was definitely no dancing on a sweaty stinky Wednesday night I'll tell you that much. I know polk has the hoochies but they are staying home or working their graveyard shifts tonight. Seemed decent but in a dead/sketchy area for a Wednesday. YMMV

Friendly service from the door person to the bartenders. Good vibes, nicely done layout with nooks to seat various group sizes. Dance floor opens up in front of the dj. Seems to be hit or miss with the dj vibe. Definitely some songs cleared the dance floor. Overall , enjoyed my experience
