Tacos de canasta. Authentic homemade street form of taco also known by tacos al vapor. the process is to prepared the freshly made tortillas on hot chili oil that gets filled with potatoes, beans, chorizo, or your choice of protein, when making you fold the tacos in half, stack them on a basket lined with wax paper and covering with a cloth and a plastic bag, this way the tortilla gets soft by the Steam created in the basket kept warmed for hours. They get served 7 different ways...

I've seen this stand a few times walking down 24th st and finally grabbed a few tacos this morning—delicious! I tried the potato, bean, and chicken mole, and will go back for more asap. Perfect for a quick bite in the morning :)
