We went just for the paella, it burnt. I was terribly disappointed. The ones from Costco tastes better. The shrimp dish was just garlicky. The only eatable dish was the calamari.

Delicious tapas and salad. Paella authentic and tasty with abundant seafood and meat. Sangria delicious, not too sweet. Ambiance and service outstanding.

Super cute and cozy vibe both inside and on the master patio. Great service every time. Great variety of small plates and paella. Nice portion sizes. Everything we had gotten is good. Tons of gluten free options and the menu is marked.

Great Spanish restaurant! We had an amazing seafood paella, full of flavor and perfectly cooked. Unfortunately, we didn’t even have time to take a picture — it was gone too fast!

We also enjoyed a sangria, which paired perfectly with the meal. The total was around $60 for two people, very fair for the quality. Definitely recommended!

Destapas SF is, without question, our happy place. We live in Marin County and still drive to the city every other Saturday just to have dinner here, that's how special it is. The moment you walk in, you feel like you've been transported straight to Spain...and honestly, like you've come home. The food? Out of this world. Their patatas bravas are the best we've had anywhere (crispy perfection with the perfect kick), the croquetas de jamón serrano are little clouds of glory, the beef empanadas are unbelievably juicy and flavorful, and the pan con tomate and jamón serrano tastes like it came straight from a Barcelona kitchen. And don't even get me started on the tarta de Santiago, a dreamy, delicate finish to the meal. Pair everything with their sangría or a glass of Spanish wine and you're in heaven. But what truly makes Destapas SF unforgettable is the staff. Kind, warm, attentive, and genuinely wonderful people who make every visit feel like a family gathering. Destapas SF isn't just a restaurant to us — it's our favorite place in the entire Bay Area, the spot we always look forward to, and the one that feels like home. If you love amazing Spanish food and an atmosphere filled with corazón...this is where you need to be. ❤️🇪🇸🍷

My coworker who lived in Madrid recommended this place as the most authentic Spanish cuisine they've had in the city. Everything we had - gazpacho shots, octopus, tomato salad and paella mixta were excellent! Service was amazing. The place was cozy but vibrant. They did bring out the dishes one right after the other, it would've been nice to have them spaced out so we can enjoy each one. Other than that, 5 stars all around.

We had an excellent experience at Destapas. The tapas were amazing and we also enjoyed sangria and wine to accompany the dishes. The ambiance and service were excellent. We had a lovely evening and hope to return.

Our favorite restaurant in the city! We drive every two or three weeks from Sausalito just to have dinner at Destapas — that's how much we love it. The service is always amazing, the staff is super friendly, and the food and drinks are absolutely delicious. My husband and I even joke that it's our second home. Highly recommended!

Was craving Spanish food and decided to try this spot since it's super close to where we were hanging out. I really loved the cozy ambience and their wine selection was great! The waiters were super nice and attentive, which made the experience even better. Food-wise, it was okay — not bad at all, but there are definitely better Spanish spots out there. The portions are pretty big though, so we couldn't finish everything or save room for dessert. I'd still want to come back to try more dishes, especially their desserts next time!

The best Spanish restaurant we've tried in the Bay Area by far. Good service and amazing food. It reminds me home

So far, I've enjoyed everything that I've had, but the tuna tartare was my favorite. I'm looking forward to working my way through the menu.
