When I was little in the 80s, we called it "The Red Store" and it remains one of my happy places. Little me was not a critic but I loved the food and my parents could've easily gone somewhere else if it wasn't, so I'm sticking with my childhood instinct of 5/5 stars.

Go-To Dimsum when I'm in the area. In the plaza next to Diamond Heights Safeway. Really good shrimp dumplings and always a speedy visit

The food is always the bomb. I also like the shu-mai it's so delicious and that is why I go there and the other foods are fantastic too. So I highly recommend this place if your in the San Francisco area near diamond heights area

I was here a year ago and had a combo plate and all the entries were too salty to be eaten, had to throw it out as it was not edible. Well I decided to try it again, maybe it was just that batch of food. I can say for certain that the food is overly salty again and had to be thrown away. Each instance was $12 wasted. I would stick with the dim sum because its steamed, anything from a wok is overly salty with MSG and oil.

Great dumplings to go for a good value, including several shrimp options without pork!

Bummed about this since it was a convenient place to get quick Chinese food. But found a cockroach in my dim sum & from reading other reviews it doesn't seem like I'm the only one that has encountered this.

The dim sum they have here is fresh and easily ready for take out! They are delish!! The plate combos they have is also a good choice, but I can't stop coming back for more dim sum when I'm around the area shopping :)

I have been eating at this restaurant since last year sometimes 2x a week. Food is ok not the best but its just convenient. Today i went there order the usual combo. When i was almost done eating i found a Cockroach on the chow mein. I have never been so disgusted, i vomitin all the food. Terrible experience. Went back and show them what i had found and she said sorry like she didn't care, not being so concerned with what i just found. She said let me refund your money i got so mad from her reaction that i left and told her i didn't wanted a refund but to make shure this didn't happen to some one else. This place is bussy during lunch time.

I've been coming here for years now, and I'm sad to say this Chinese takeout counter has really declined. I think the food quality is fine, but it's no longer a good value. During the pandemic, as with all restaurants, they increased their prices. I can accept that, BUT on top of increasing prices, they give WAY less food now! Yesterday I purchased the 2-item box ($11.99 now vs $9.99), and I was shocked that the lady gave me a box that was 25% full. In the past, the box would be so full that the workers would struggle to close the box. Yesterday, I maybe got 2-3 pieces of meat for each of my entrees. AND, for my fried rice, I barely got 1 cm deep of rice! Most restaurants will at least give you plenty of carb to make your order look big. Not coming back even though I live a 2 minute walk away.

Great food that is fairly priced. Quick, friendly, courteous service by a professional staff. In full compliance with COVID-19 protection preventative protocols.

I have had their food for decades! I understand we are all trying to survive and make it through a hard time like Covid. Money is tight for everyone just like the clients trying to enjoy a good dinner tired of their own thrifty home cooking. I was great to have good dinners here about four times a week! Affordable before the diminished servings and raised prices during Covid. Through all the years only once I was given a rotten meat dish that stunk and hit my pallet spoiled I still can't eat that dish anywhere. They took it back and they quickly realized the accident and fixed the issue. I worked for years as a student in restaurants. These things happen even in the best places. Tonight was strike three not counting the above. I have ordered the Sesame Chicken and loved it in the past. The sweet and sour pork was always too fatty for me. The last three times trying to eat the Sesame Chicken has been horrible. I even took it back an order showing the server there was no meat in the bulk of the dish with all breading and no to little chicken rolled over and over in breading to create a visual chunk. This replacement ended up in the garbage. Same issue. I have to draw the line when 1/2 to 1/3 of the order is pieces of rolled over CHICKEN SKIN NO MEAT again in same built up batter and breading to make it seem like chunks of breaded chicken meat. If people really look they are going to see how gross it really is to eat. As I did three times. Now when you actually find meat what was once actual small chunks is now stringy thinly sliced slivers of dark meat built up over and over in breading as above. over 1/2 to 3/4 of the dish is now built up breading. I think the old phrase is "Where's the Meat"??? The quality now on some dishes has dropped incredibly low along with the serving sizes while costs have increased to the take out dinner. The dumplings used to be wonderful and taste full of joy. I would order enough to make a full dinner. I would take them home and others would beg for one. Not anymore. Last time I shared I was told they are not the same. They lack taste and seem to be all filler no flavor no staple base. The egg rolls used to be great. I loved them with fresh crisp veggies and sprouts etc. I hate most vegetables it is huge for me to say I like veggie dishes. Now you can tell they are cooked in old grease dark and drenched in stale fryer oil. Oil that is old and needs to be replaced or has been filtered clean one time too many without changing to new oil. I hate writing reviews like this. It takes a lot to get me to this point. But throwing away, not finishing or eating 4 of the last 5 take outs...well....it is like opening my wallet and throwing away the cash. Such a Shame. I have had over decades of great to go. They always say you know the true colors of places, people and things when times are at their worse. Sadly visitors to my San Francisco home will ask for a usual repeat dinner night. I am going to have to tell them "the quality is just not the same" Any advice for a great replacement restaurant? See Photos Attached!
