Excellent, fast service. Cocktails were a little weak. Other than that, food was outstanding and service was excellent.
We had a wonderful meal. We were seated right away. The food and service were great. Despite having a very busy night, they came back several times to make sure we were well taken care of. We had the Fregola del Pescatore and the Branzino, both are excellent. We topped that off with a tiramisu, which was also excellent. We will try their pizza next time.
You could’ve killed my 18-month old son who’s allergic to nuts and eggs due to your negligence. What was supposed to be a peaceful and fun night after a 6-hour drive to SF ended up becoming a tense night with my husband and I wondering if we would need to take him to the ER.
When a restaurant patron discloses there is an allergy you need to make sure of things such as:
1. The meal’s ingredients don’t contain the allergen(s)
2. There is no cross contamination as the meal is prepared
I did my due diligence and asked about these things when ordering the gnocchi and was reassured he could eat the food. My son devoured every single gnocchi.
Fortunately, although he experienced a horrible case of hives as a side effect, my son’s throat did not close up. This leads me to think perhaps there was a little cross contamination that was still enough to trigger the a bad case of hives.
This was dinner so there was nothing else any of us ate after this meal that could’ve caused the reaction other than the restaurant.
I hate to write this because the meal was delicious and our server was so kind. But as a mom who has already the anxiety-inducing experience of having to take her baby to the ER due to a bad reaction I need to flag this so you can be aware and do better.
Be thorough.
Know what’s in your food and if there is any cross contamination.
Fix the menu to note where there are any allergens or create a separate one linked with a QR code so we can see which meals contain which allergens so we can make an informed decision.
It’s a simple fix but it’s one that, if not done, could have terminal consequences for both a future patron and the reputation of your establishment.
A bit disappointed compared to Doppio in Campbell and Mountain View. Pizza quality not as good :(
Food was good; service was excellent. The noise was so loud that my Apple watch alerted me to dangerous sound level.
Extremely chaotic. Coming on a Monday night with a reservation and the hostess didn’t know how to handle the reservation system. A giant line to walk in and reservation, all mixed. There were people with a reservation made for 30 minutes after mine sitting before. A system like open table is so easy to handle. Then we ordered food and the pizza came with a strong burnt flavor. Total waste of time. Even living in the neighborhood I don’t believe I need to go to north beach when I want quality Italian food

Popped in here on a very busy Monday night. We got a couple of seats at the bar and ordered cocktails. The bar tender was fantastic and made great drinks. We decided to order food and we were very impressed with how quickly the food came out and the quality of our dishes. Prices were very reasonable and on point for the area. Great lively atmosphere and everyone who we interacted with were wonderful. Looking forward to going back.

We were disappointed - this place has a great rep - it didn't hold up to the hype the sparkling rose wasn't chilled enough - the pizza toppings we skimpy & the crust doughy the arugula salad a bit of goat cheese & some pepitats - dull - my son said I could simply make this but I would add more ingredients & plenty of them I won't be going back!
Get the doppio zero pizza. You will not regret it. The pizza dough is so light and fluffy. So good!
It's obvious this restaurant caters to the theater crowd in the area, at least in the 6 to 7 PM timeframe. The one plus is that they turn around your food really quick, if you need to eat quick and get to your show. But on the downside, if you're not in a rush, it feels like they are rushing you. Maybe they don't have enough wait staff, but our waiter would just throw things down as they flew by our table. The food was also mediocre. We didn't try the pizza, so perhaps that is worth a try! It is a nice looking restaurant and decent vibe.

This is my 3rd time at Doppio Zero before the theatre. Excellent food, service and atmosphere. It can get loud at times but it's only because people are enjoying themselves and the lovely space they're in.

Called in telling them it was my wife’s bday and she loves their Margherita 🍕 I walk in and he says, tell your wife happy bday, get outta here, on the house. Grazi Doppio Zero!

Cute place and great location. Service was nice but felt really rushed. Salad was good but pizza was disappointing - it was cold and mushy in the middle - despite arriving to table before we were even finished with the salad. Plates cleared before you put your fork down kind of deal. It's a good spot to eat before a show and Id be curious to try other menu items.
Favorite lunch place. If you like chewy pizza crust, the neopolitan pizza is always solid. The little gem salad, frito misto and oxtail pasta are winners. This particular pasta has been improved with a very chewy al dente pasta and it's so good
