Growing up, one of the fondest memories I have of going to dim sum with my family was getting to check out all of the carts of food that would circle around from one table to the next. The heightening anticipation of what was coming next followed by the sheer excitement to see that it included one of the dishes I wanted? Unbeatable! Which is just about the only bad thing about Dragon Beaux - seemingly not a single cart to be found. Yet, as much of a bummer as that is, it doesn't seem so bad when the food is this good! Now, if you've ever been to Koi Palace in Daly City, the food here should look pretty familiar, as the two are sister restaurants (though, the concept here is a bit more modern). Similarly, just the general feel of this place is also a bit nicer, but really, it's all about the food which is fantastic! Since the menus are formatted differently, it's hard to say for sure whether or not the offerings at both places are entirely the same. However, the majority, if not all, of your usual dim sum staples (and pretty much all of my personal favorites from Koi Palace) are here - from your standard Shiu Mai and Ha Cheung Fun (Shrimp Rice Crepe Roll) to their Crispy Roast Pork Belly, Baked Char Shiu Bao, and Xiao Long Bao. Not only that, but everything tastes just as good, if not better, here! -- (#1101) SHIU MAI - Pork & Shrimp Steamed Dumplings Not the best I've had, but really good. The pork is always juicy and has a great, porky taste to them. Plus, the pieces are always pretty meaty, though not in a heavy sort of way. -- (#1104) HAR GOW - Shrimp Dumpling More solid than spectacular, but there's nothing wrong with that. The filling isn't super plump, but it's decently flavorful (the shrimp has a nice sweetness) and the skin is perfectly soft and tender. -- (#1301) SHRIMP RICE CREPE ROLL In the best of ways, this is pretty standard. I've had a lot of hit or miss types, but this is pretty consistent. The shrimp are fairly sized, the rice noodles have a nice bite to them, and the rolls are bigger than most I've had. -- (#1817) JIN DUI - Fried Red Bean Sesame Ball We don't always get this, but it's one of my favorites. The balls are crispy and golden brown while the filing is so, so good - the texture isn't thick/gloppy nor is it super sweet either. -- (#1501) CLASSIC STEAMED BBQ PORK BAO Their Baked Pork Bao is better (see below), but this is still pretty good. The bun is pillowy soft and the filling is super meaty. Plus, it never seems to have those tough tendon pieces and the sauce isn't overly sweet. -- (#1108) XO SPINACH DUMPLING It's somewhat similar to Har Gow, but better. The shrimp is good, and I like what the spinach adds, but it's the XO sauce that won me over - it just made everything even tastier! -- (#1207) CRISPY ORGANIC MILK ROLL I don't often get this (more because I don't see it), but this was fantastic! The batter was super crispy yet not all that oily and the inside was milky and piping hot. And did I mention it's quite tasty? Loved this. -- (#1412) ROASTED PORK BELLY A little pricey for the portion, but so delicious! Every time I've had this, it has been perfect - super crispy skin, not a lot of fat, and ridiculously juicy. I just feel like an idiot for not having a photo... -- (#1512) BAKED BBQ PORK BAO Amazingly, I don't have a photo of our other must get either! The filling is just as good as the steamed one, and I love how soft and golden brown the bun is, but it's the topping that must this so good - so flakey and flavorful! Besides how awesome the food is, the other thing that I like about Dragon Beaux is how surprisingly good the service is. Rather than the typically short, "move it along" type of vibe at other places, the workers here are actually relatively friendly and even joked with one of my friends. Plus, everything moves rather efficiently, from getting tables set up to the food coming out, so even when there's a line (which there always is unless you are

This place has gone down in service and quality. I used to consider this place fancy, now it's just like any other Chinese restaurant. I walked in the lobby and was checking out their frozen dim sum menu then I hear fingers snapping. The male host who was also a server snapped his fingers to get my attention. Rude. Now let's get to the food. Chicken jook disgusting low quality. They used dark meat with skin on. Charsiu rice roll was also disgusting because they used yesterday's meat. It was grey and poultry served the next day has a gamey taste. Will never go to dragon beaux again.

Very good dim sum place here. Love the Peking ducks. It is definitely on the pricier side

Vulgar dim sum huge unmanageable pieces. The only tasty dim sum was the stuffed eggplant. Geoduck chow fun awful . Geoduck lost

Good dim sum in a beautiful restaurant. It helps to make a reservation here. Lovely interior design with nice touches. The menu has a wide variety of choices it's best time come with at least a few people so you can share more dishes to try out. Well-made steamed dumplings. We had vegetable & shrimp dumplings, sticky rice in lotus leaves, dried scallop congee (so silky!), wild mushroom & black truffle fried rice, Chinese broccoli perfectly cooked & cut, chicken feet, purple yam sweet buns, and custard tarts. Condiments such as mustard, soy sauce & hot sauce are served in little plastic take out containers, which is a bit strange but I guess it works better for the restaurant. They didn't have the savory fried donuts for the congee which was disappointing.

Wonderful dim sum presented in a beautiful restaurant. For smaller groups, be sure to ask for the front dining room. Modern, colorful and fun. The staff is always friendly and clearly takes pride in the great food.

The service was great. My friend and I got seated quickly during a busy lunch hour during spring break. The dim sums and beef noodle were delicious.

As someone who pleads to guilty to ordering an excess of delicious food, I was surprised to strike the perfect amount of dim sum during lunch at Dragon Beaux. Famously difficult to get a reservation, this restaurant boasts a combined approach to both high quality dim sum and hot pot. Luckily we made a noon reservation and were seated right upon arrival. In true casual Chinese dining fashion, we were seated at the same table as another party, which we did not mind at all--the more the merrier! We ordered five dishes, which did not disappoint. The shu mai, chang fen, and shrimp dumplings were solid classics. My favorite was definitely the sea bass dumplings; the filling was full of shrimp and juicy and steamed to perfection, encased in gooey rice wrapping. This dish was definitely the winner. Depending on the size and function of your party, this is a quick meal that satisfies all your dim sum cravings.

Incredible food. Everything I ordered was divine. Great ambiance and lots of families enjoying their meals...a great mark of an amazing dim sum spot. I highly recommend. Can't wait to return.

Excellent, reasonably priced dim sum in a lovely dining room! I made a reservation at the last minute and still got a table for my friend and me right before they closed for the afternoon. Service is quick; before one dish was finished, they'd bring out the next. Everything was tasty, and I'd love to come back sometime with a group.

Overall a very mediocre meal Service was solid but slow. The lag between dishes was very long. Flavors were all a bit off... Mapo tofu: too sweet, too much MSG Duck appetizer: Way too salty and too much oil Chinese broccoli with garlic sauce: too bitter Xiao long bao: rather gimmicky, I definitely would have preferred just five traditional pork dumplings. None of the other flavors (spinach, beet, turmeric, and squid ink) tasted good

First time here as every other time where so was previously invited I had other plans. DB is an offshoot of Koi Palace in Daly City. For you Baby Boomers this location used to be as Fosters restaurant back in the 50s, 60s. and 70s. Walking in, I saw certain aspects of where the dining counter used to be and it looked liked the restaurant expanded. Dim sum overall was just 3 stars but some dishes were better then others. Chai siu steamed bows were like most Dim Sum places and potstickers were not to my liking. Service was excellent with Servers and Server Assistants working together to clear out any finished dishes as well as replenishing tea and the hot water for the tea pot. If You compare DB with Koi Palace, Koi would be it. Where I was sitting, there was black electrical tape covering up two depressions on the floor from whatever used to be under it. For the money one is paying to eat here they should fix it and make it look nice. Restroom was very clean and well stocked. Would I come back - perhaps but not on my dime as there are other places such as Harborview Restaurant located at Embarcadero 4 which is nicer - food wise and dining experience at a similar price point.
