The vegetarian salad at Dragon Well isn't bad, in fact it's better than two stars might imply, but in the grand scheme of things, it's not a repeater. First off, the food takes forever. Second, $20 is an absurd price tag for this dish (even taking into account the affluence of the Marina). Third, you get mostly greens and have to wade through iceberg and romaine to get to tofu. Fourth, the dressing is inadequate; they even ask if you want more when they deliver the dish and as a rule of thumb, if it's standard procedure to preemptively offer more dressing, maybe the salad should simply come with more dressing.

Why does anyone bother to try to order at Dragon Well? It seems they are very frequently too busy to accept orders. Maybe they need to hire more staff? Wouldn't that be nice....

***This review is for gluten free only*** As someone who's been GF for 8yrs I'd say my standards and expectations are pretty low. I'm grateful for any restaurant who accommodates allergies and I know it's not easy but this was not it. I felt deceived by the photos. I ordered the lemongrass chicken & fried rice. Instead of making a GF sauce for the chicken, it seems they omitted the sauce completely which also omitted the flavor. It was inedible. The fried rice was ok but bland. Again, I appreciate GF but at least put in some effort or just don't offer it at all. I make better Chinese food at home.

We come here weekly, such a treat! Anytime I have friends in the city I bring them here!! Love that they have a gluten free menu, one of the few I feel safe eating from. (Celiac) Very happy and loyal customer.

Very fresh ingredients. Tasty and generous portions. Keep reordering from them (even when I try other places to try new restaurants) and I end up going back to them.

Love this place. Been a favorite for a couple of decades now. Wok tossed prawns and spring rolls every time

Ate here on 11/18/23 with my partner. Came in and was seated down. My partner wanted a tea right away since we were exploring the city quite a while. As we ask for a tea this girl name “Olga” says in a loud voice, “ we just got there and we should wait for the server”. She then yelled across the room for the server to come as the server was with another customers. “Olga” was very very rude. To have a shift leader act that way she did is un professional. She was rude and acted like she did nothing wrong.

We were out furniture shopping nearby. Since there were so many lunch options and we had 90 minutes left on the meter we walked through a couple of blocks and eventually picked Dragon Well. It seems not a lot of folks eat in during a tuesday lunch, but they have a fierce take-out thing going on. We ordered: Ma Po Tofu $22: 4*. It was very tasty, although more sauce than I like. The tofu was beautiful and silky. Flavor balance was just right. There could have been more pork, especially at that price. Salt and Pepper Calamari $23: 3.5*. Also very good, but adding the fried noodles seemed like a ploy to make the portion seem larger. I asked for low heat level, and they were perfect on that. Some pieces were just too heavy on the salt. The bathroom was very clean and I appreciate that. Overall it was a good experience with two knocks - Food was slow to come out, especially with the low crowd. Prices were way out of line with comparable Chinese restaurants. Cherylynn's mother would definitely not approve!

Had the best dinner at Dragonwell. The Kung Pao chicken, the salt & pepper calamari, the handmade potstickers, Hong Kong noodles and the salmon were all SO delicious. This is a family-owned business. Both the attentive owner and kind staff member Olga checked on us frequently, brought us a beautiful pot of jasmine tea, and noted which wines paired well with our meal. This is our favorite Chinese restaurant in the city. We will be back!

We ordered in delivery tonight and decided to try Dragon Well. The crab rangoon were won ton style, which I prefer to the empanadas style. They arrived delicious and hot, with an unusual sweet and sour sauce (pineapple maybe). The small size won ton soup was fresh but basic and lacking much flavor. The Mongolian beef was tender and had a unique flavor, perhaps it had wine in the sauce, though it was very onion heavy. With rice and fortune cookies, dinner was very expensive. I'd give Dragon Well 3.75 stars but everything was packaged so nicely, arrived hot and they had good napkins, so I give them 4 stars.
