Honestly, I was disappointed, especially for a spot on the Michelin Guide. We tried the xiao long bao, dan dan noodles, green onion pancake, and pork baos. The xiao long bao were just okay mid at best and honestly, other places around San Francisco do them better. The dan dan noodles tasted more like peanut sauce with noodles; I wouldn’t order them again. The green onion pancake was the worst, so undercooked it was basically raw dough. The pork baos were better, the filling was decent but the breading was so thick it felt almost like hard candy. Overall, I expected much more from a Michelin-recognized spot.

Trust me when I say you cannot find another place with better soup dumplings. Their soup dumplings could not be improved because they were already perfect. The skin was so thin you could see the color of the soup for the numb and spicy xlb. There was So. Much. Soup. and the meat inside was so tender too. I will say though the crab roe one was a tiny bit too salty, but to me that isn't really an issue.

service solo no good
Hands down one of the best soup dumplings / xiaolongbaos and shengjianbaos in North America!! Better than DTF IMO. The egg and chive packets were also really good and authentic 😋😋
Be there before they open to beat the crowds.

Steamed dumplings (Xiao long bao) are amazing. We ordered one spicy and one squash/shrimp.
Pan fired dumplings are not the best in Bay Area, I’ll give a 4.
A localized dumpling place in general. Good vibe and atmosphere.

The food is for western people. The waiters spoke perfect English. They had heating lamps and plants. I think it’s good for a western people who want to eat Chinese food. Average Chinese food for Chinese people.

Recommended dishes: Pork Xiao Long Bao \u0026 Numb and Spicy Pork Xiao Long Bao
Best dumplings in the city.
The numbing spicy pork xiao long bao is their signature dish, and you should definitely get it.
The juicy pork bao and dry fried chicken wings are great too, and I’d recommend trying them both.
Not very expensive either: usually about $25 pp incl tip.

The bokchoi in my dandan noodles had grit and rocks. The crab meat wasn’t fresh in the steam buns, and everything tended to sweet.

Hands down soup dumpling in the U.S. Don’t waste you tummy space for buns or noodles, order soup dumplings. Crab and pork, spicy pork and pork were absolutely delicious. Cucumbers and mushrooms are the best small plates we tried.

Food is delicious and friendly service. The place is small and popular, so there is usually a wait to get a table. We showed up 15 minutes before it opened and a line was already formed.

Juicy pork bao is the thing to get here, delicious soup inside and pan fried skin, but be careful of hot soup squirting. However, having been a few times, I find everything else decent but very overpriced and not worth the long dinner lines. If you can walk in with no during lunch, the juicy pork bao and xiao long baos are worth the try, otherwise not worth the wait and price generally
