The prices were fair. Atmosphere is a bit crowded for like a small date. But the food was over the top and so was the service

This was my first time being at Ebisu. I had a really wonderful time. I was there with my family. There were five of us. We all ordered stuff and ate family style. I really wish I had taken pictures of the food because it was beautiful and the service was really fast especially for being so crowded. On a Friday night. I will go back again and take photos of my food.
I will go back again!

Tried the bento with a sake tasting and really enjoyed the experience. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly service, and a solid choice for quality Japanese food in the neighborhood.

We had a delicious meal and friendly service for our large group with highlights being the Deluxe sushi meal and the dragon rolls. Our little one devoured the sushi salmon as well!

Fantastic all around. We got lucky and got seated pretty much moments before the dinner rush, but a moderate wait would have been more than worth it.

My husband and I recently visited this sushi restaurant for the first time. The food itself was indeed delicious, but unfortunately the service experience left us disappointed.
It seems like the restaurant mainly caters to their regular customers. As first-time guests, we felt unwelcome from the very beginning. The hostess at the entrance had an unfriendly expression and treated us with little attention, almost as if she didn’t want to bother with us. Even the sushi chef’s attitude toward us was noticeably different compared to how warmly he interacted with the regular customers sitting at the table next to us.
While the food was good, the lack of hospitality made the overall experience uncomfortable. Great service should extend to every guest, not just the familiar ones.
This was our first and also our last visit to this restaurant.

You can't call to make a reservation here. You'll need to walk in and either be seated immediately or write your name on the list. Whatever happens as long as you get to sit down and eat at this establishment is your good fortune. I had the mackerel dinner, my son had the salmon dinner, and my partner had all types of sushi. I could barely speak because my tastebuds were too busy having a party in my mouth. Definitely worth any wait!!!

Ebisu has been one of the best Japanese restaurant in SF. They continue to serve excellent sushi and other items.

I felt rushed into ordering my food, and hovering over me to pay the bill and clearing the table without while still at the table. Not much guidance given into ordering the food and trying to coerce into ordering something that is readily available. No refilling of water and had to to literally shout for spicy sauce.
