I thought the food was really good and I love getting the salmon matchazuke here. Unfortunately I think the food is quite overpriced ($30+ for the matchazuke) for what it is as well as for the quantity. My gf doesn't have a big appetite and even she finished her meal along with sharing a roll together. Sometimes the service can be quite slow, especially for the rolls. We thought they forgot about it! I do like the ambiance though. It's well decorated and a peaceful restaurant to eat in.

This is, by far, the best meal I have had in a very long time. The pork curry was balanced, spicy…sushi, unbelievable, top to bottom…service…absolutely unbelievable experience and will be coming back again during our short stay in town. We all work in the industry and by far…best meal we’ve had in a LONG time!

OMG! Found this place late night leaving SFO and headed into wine country. The food was incredibly fresh, SO delicious, the ambience was great and the fella working was flying solo. Props to them. HIGHLY recommend… some of the best Japanese food I’ve ever had, but hands DOWN the best late night food of my life!

Very disappointing experience for dinner. The service was incredibly slow despite there being 3 chefs, 2 servers, and only 5 tables of customers. There was a 40 minute gap between first food and the rolls coming out. Fish quality was ok but expected better for the price point ($15 for 2 nigiri). I ordered a simple salmon maki roll for my son and it was packed with wasabi that even made my eyes water. Also, the menus were unreadable - printed on brown paper with an empty ink cartridge so that half the words weren’t visible. There are better sushi places in the neighborhood with better service, food and value.

This place doesn't catch the eye on the outside but inside they decorated quite cute. But it was so quiet when we went on a Sunday maybe it was odd time. Food: the sashimi and salad was pretty fresh but the rolls were so small, overpriced for the portion. Everything in the menu looked pretty overpriced for what the portion comes out on. Service was attentive, quick and good. The good thing about them is they do t charge all those ridiculous sf what what fees and pretty clean bill. So we tipped them real good. Overall would come back cause the vibes were cool but for the portion sizes it was pretty disappointing. Basically you won't be full on $65 per person.

They have Fish from Toyosu market (Japan). The Omakase menu is very good and worth the value! Friendly staff and pretty atmosphere.

Had this place saved for a while and finally tried it for lunch on a Sunday. The service was very slow, and the food was worse unfortunately. We ordered a pork katsu curry and a roll. The curry came out after 5 minutes, and then the roll took 30 minutes after to come out. The curry was watery and tasted only like star anise/clove, the pork was cold and all very dry - to the point that a few pieces were inedible. The price of the curry was 30$ which felt too high for the quality of what you get. Go over a few blocks to stone hill matcha for a 20$ katsu curry that’s fast and delicious. Perhaps Echigo was home sick today.

Beautiful restaurant, good food. Loved the donburi with four kinds of tuna prepared in it, and my date loved her curry. The pot stickers were a little bland and weren't sized correctly to be easily dipped in the sauce container that came with it. This was during the soft open so they may have fixed it by now.

Food is below average, edamame was tasting a bit off (end of the shelf life) and pork katsu curry - pork was so tough that I needed a knife and curry was not Japanese flavor more Chinese. Price is a bit high for the quality. Ambient is nice, and passion lemonade was good. But everything else needs a bit of improvement.
