We were staying in SF for Dreamforce and our local cafe most the time we were there was Eddie's.
Eddie's Cafe is a small, compact typical service at a bar (and few table seating) diner. The staff were friendly and the food service was rather quick.
With it being small, tables can only be held for 45 minutes which in our case wasn't much of an issue. The food is reasonably priced and the food itself tastes reasonably good! Good enough we returned 3 times while we were nearby.
The only issue we had was on the last day, we got seated at the last chair seating as it was busy that day, and had our drinks order taken. 5 mins after we arrived, two large women with a baby arrived and we were asked to move to the bar. The only bar seats were apart from each other so we refused. It made us feel abit uncomfortable and unwelcome as we had been there most mornings and did tip.
We were then moved once another table had left but again, we shouldn't have been moved after we were seated and orders taken. Then when the women came in we found out why we were moved, because they were very friendly with the owners. The same visit, when we went to pay. My partner was asked to sign and tip very bluntly. Being from the UK, tipping is only provided for good service and shouldn't be expected, so that left a sour taste in our mouth.
Overall the cafe is very cute and I would return again on another visit to SF.

What a gem this place is! It doesn’t look like much from the outside, but the food is fantastic, the service was warm and friendly and the atmosphere is exactly what you’d expect from the local neighborhood diner. My daughter ordered a hot chocolate and they took the time to choose an extra special mug for her. Overall just a really great experience, if I could give more stars, I would.
