I love this place so much. I've been coming here since I was 12 with my family. I'm now 24 and the food is just as amazing. The ladies are still amazing. This will forever be an authentic restaurant and we will forever love this place. I brought my boyfriend and he had nothing but positive things to say. Amazing Pupusas. Thank you!!!

Been going here since I was a child, since the early 80s. The smell, sounds, even the foil they used to wrap the burritos is a strong and good memory. Love El Faro!!!! I used to get a strawberry Fanta but have since upgraded to better options for drinks haha ❤️

They have to renew the menu those prices are from 10yrs ago. Went in today and was very disappointed, the carnitas which has always been my go to was floating in a dark red gravy/fat sauce, I've been a customer since the 70s so I found this upsetting, I had to cancel my order and walked out with my head down, the one in SSF and down on Mission are pretty much still the same but the Folsom shop is nothing like it used to be 😔 sorry ladys back in the day you always took good care of us...

I thought this place was part of the Farolito family, wrong. The nastiest, smallest, and skimpiest super burrito I’ve had in a looooooong time (over a decade). The burrito tasted like it belonged in a rural sundown town, not in the mission district.

The carne asada tasted like boiled London broil of the cheapest cut, no flavor. The wettest and blandest refried beans. A burnt/bland tortilla.

One lady was nice in there, the other one was like the wicked witch of the oz.. Guess who made my burrito? Yup, you guessed it.

Save yourself money, heartache, and disappoint. Go to el Farolito or any other taqueria in the mission, this ain’t it!

Fantastic local place! The egg and chorizo breakfast burrito was delicious and super-filling. Great service too. Absolutely recommend!

The super nachos did not taste good at all. It came with beef/chicken <<=<<= +$4.00, Refried beans, cheese, guacamole, and sour cream. The tapestry around the upper walls was very nice

Echoing the comments, food is ok but not the kind that makes you want to visit regularly. Its the historic nostalgia that keeps people going. I just dont know what that brown juice is that they splash on everything especially their burritos and they say everyone likes it and they keep encouraging to add it. That super dark brown broth whatever it is (Maggi sauce?) is not the business for my gut. Paying 18 bucks for a breakfast burrito is something else.

Needed to grab a quick lunch and this was close by. They have some tables inside. A huge selection of drinks as well as agua fresco. Ordered mild carnitas tacos which seemed a bit more like medium for me but not flaming hot. Next time I’ll try the tamales.
