Love the food and the style. Front row seat to the kitchen, super friendly crew, and perfect sized plates to try a bit of everything. Definitely order the crispy potatoes.

Such a delicious meal. The service was amazing and warm. Mitch took us through the menu expertly and with perfect detail. He even wrote up a list of recommendations for our upcoming trip to Napa Valley. My mom and I left raving about the food and the staff.
When I come back to SF, I’ll be headed straight for El Lopo.

There were lopos all over. The staff know all about food and drinks and have invited us to Spain to learn more. How wonderful!

This was SUPER cool. Great way to learn more about Sherry, super knowledgeable staff and amazing selection!!
We love El Lopo!!!!! My now-husband and I moved to the bay in April, and on our first outing to San Francisco we were blindly walking around looking for somewhere to eat when we stumbled upon El Lopo. We took a chance and had one of the best dining experience of our lives. Unknown to us at the time, our server was the owner, and we chose to order the “take care of us” along with several sherry flights. Everything was delicious, perfectly portioned, and the vibes were immaculate. So much so that when we eloped on June 6, we came back for dinner that evening (elope, El Lopo, lol)! This time our server was the gentleman who I believe selects the wine/sherry, and our experience somehow topped the first time! At the end of our meal we mentioned to him that we had just eloped earlier that day, and he brought us one of those pitchers that you pour into your mouth (wish I could remember the name, agh!) We hold El Lopo so dear to our hearts, and everyone who’s in the area needs to try them!

So much fun! They specialize in Sherry, but with a whole range of Spanish wines, beers, and ciders.
The bar is based on an alternate history where Spain/Mexico continued to control California and kept up the cuisine traditions.
The food and ambiance is great, and the service is good to boot. Would recommend wholly!

We just visited the El Lopo Bar&Restaurant, we didn’t knew that Wednesday is the quiz day😅 I can recommend the atmosphere there and the beer was also tasty. The food looked great, specially the meatballs!

Great little, informal bar/restaurant, with a lot of character, tasty tapas, and a great vibe! I really enjoyed their small selection of scrumptious tapas and delicious wines. They also had a fun trivia night going on there (was a Wed night), and there was a fun lively energy. Highly recommend you check it out if you’re looking for a fun, memorable spot to either have some drinks and bites or even make a full meal!

Okay, I love this place and will be returning for sure. The service is warm and welcoming (thank you, Alicia) and there's a real cozy, come-in-here-and-relax vibe that immediately endeared me to the place. They have a whole shelf of board games, a great selection of wine (which you can order by the glass, the bottle, or in a unique pitcher with a long spout that is used to pour wine directly into the mouth (though you can choose not to do this). I think the food is a bit pricey and the menu is short and limited to tapas-style small bites, so I wouldn't necessarily stop by if I was really hungry. The cheese and charcuterie platter was excellent though. We even took leftovers home. Overall a solid experience. I will be back.

The best Madrid taverna vibes in California! There's always something on the menu for any mood, food or drink. Staff always have great recommendations and are fun to chat with and will show you how to drink from a porron.

Despite its vintage atmosphere, the place feels outdated and disorganized. The menu and drink selection are limited, and it’s located in an area that doesn’t feel safe
