The ropa vieja was so good! A perfect meal for a rainy night. The empanadas were also crazy good. The mofongo was a bit dry but still good. We also really liked the tostones. They were all out of sangria on a Saturday night which was a little odd but we would have loved to try the guava one.

I had an excellent experience here. The person taking care of me was very friendly, as were the other patrons. It wasn't super busy when I went in, I took my time with the menu (everything looked amazing!) I had a mofongo plate and empanadas and it was deliciousVegetarian options: Menu had lots of vegetarian options for all the regular meals. I didn't mention I was vegetarian but the staff was considerate enough to let me know that the rice I ordered was normally made with pork, and asked if I would like it to be made without :) the check in was definitely appreciated

I moved to the Bay Area from south Florida about 9 years ago and have been in search of some decent Cuban food since I got here and this place definitely provides that! Empanadas especially were delicious but everything my friend and I ordered was delicious. If table side service is what you’re in search of this isn’t the place; everyone is friendly but it’s a fast casual lunch/dinner spot and the servers have a lot going on besides attending to tables. Will definitely be back, so happy this place is here ❤️

Great food! We will return. The staff is a little stretched, but that's just a post-covid world. It wasn't all that busy, just busy enough to slow things down. She was attentive and efficient in her job. The pozole is not to be missed! It's not just a soup.

I really was hopeful for this place as I love Caribbean food.Unfortunately, it didn't exactly live up to my expectations. The food isn't bad, it just not special.Service was also okay, nothing special.Location had approximately 10 tables. The atmosphere is nice. Lots of Puerto Rican/Cuban decorations and memorabilia.I would recommend for those who have never tried this type of food, but I won't be going back.Parking: Hard to park, street parking.Wheelchair accessibility: Door area is a little tight.

I ordered takeout from here. The food was delicious and flavorful. I had been looking for a Puerto Rican restaurant since moving to San Francisco. That said, the restaurant forgot my drink in the order. Additionally, I purchased an extra large sized (8oz) salsa for additional cost on the app and the smaller size (4oz) arrived... No utensils or napkins were included in the bag. So the delivery experience was disappointing overall but I would maybe go back in person.

Great food! Alright service. They were participating in restaurant week so I thought I'd give it a go. The vegetable empanadas with pink sauce was quite yummy. Really enjoyed the chicken special dish they had. Chocolate cake came from some pink box lol. Lord knows where they got that from...

Jessica greeted us and served our table with a big smile and great recommendations; great customer service! The Mofongo con Lechón was delicious, the meat was so tender and I haven't tasted a Mofongo that good since my trip to Puerto Rico in June. My kiddo had the arroz con pollo and she couldn't stop mentioning how amazing it was, she's normally a picky eater, not this time, too good to pass up. Great Service + Delicious food = Definitely going back!

I am originally from the New York City area and am Puerto Rican in background. When I moved here to San Francisco, one of the first things I did was look for any Puerto Rican restaurants. Caribbean restaurants are tough to find here so I was initially skeptical when I found this spot in the heart of the Mission.Oh my God, El Nuevo Fruitlandia blew us away. I took my family and everything we ordered was authentic and delicious. You can tell that the owners love what they do because you feel it in the food. Definitely check it out!

I've been to a few Caribeño restaurants in SF and I like this place best. This is a Cuban/Puerto Rican restaurant and for those of you who don't know there has always been a friendly rivalry among Cuban, Puerto Rican and Dominicans in regards to cuisine. I'm Puerto Rican so of course I might be a little biased but I think Puerto Ricans do comida criolla best. Dominicans go a little too buck wild (cow lung and candied habichuelas?) while Cubans think a roast pork/ham/swiss cheese sandwich is gourmet (I tease, I tease!). I think you can never go wrong with a mix of tostones, pasteles, yuca con bacalao, arroz con habichuelas and mofongo. This place has excellent mofongo with arroz con habichuelas. My only complaint is that they don't have tembleque. It's been years since I've had tembleque.

Infuriating! As a born and raised Cuban living in Bay Area I feel offended. How dare you try to pass this junk as our food? My review:-vaca frita- it’s supposed to be on the crunchier side and flavorful, this dish is chewy, flavorless and impossible to swallow, imagine swallowing a ball of plastic.-arroz con pollo: main word is chicken, it should have it… this dish has a minimal amount of tasteless chicken, rice is mushy.-tostones:it should be double fried crunchy green plantains, this dish used sweeter plantains that were not properly fried resulting in sogginess and sweeter flavor rather than salty, pathetic.-guava pastries: OMG! Lacks any tangible amount of guava and they were at least 2 days old !! STALE ! Seriously?!- Mojo sauce: it was water with lemon and oil flavor, disgusting.-mango and passion fruit juice: neither mango or passion fruit, some sort of sugary liquid that made me diabetic just by looking at it.-yuca fries: the ONLY properly cooked item.Is the food edible? Yes if you lack standards. Is this cuban food? Resounding NOShould you eat this? Absolutely NOTI need a Miami trip ASAP :(

I was living in this hood for eight years and I've been wanting to try this place. After moving to the outer mission I finally came back and tried this place. It is so cute, it made me feel like i was out of town with all the decor. Great staff and service. we asked Jessica ( our waitress) to surprise us with some dishes and it did not disappoint. Everything was super delicious that we will be coming back for more to try other dishes. On top of it all the taro chips were home made and so yum. Surprisingly they only had a few people there. Id definitely recommend this place and after eating you can take a stroll down 24th street.
