The paella fell a bit short for me—the flavor profile didn’t quite land, and they’re using an alternate grain instead of traditional bomba rice. That said, the almejas, chorizo, gambas, and mejillones were excellent, and absolutely worth ordering.

Despite the paella miss, this is still one of the more authentically Spanish spots in the city, and I’ll definitely be back to explore the rest of the menu. In my experience, most places around here struggle with paella—there simply aren’t many Spanish chefs—but I appreciate that this kitchen aims for the real thing. Definitely miss zarzuela.

Amazing food with attentive service. We had the quail, sausage with whit beans, green beans, patatas bravas, jamon and calamari. Two jugs of delicious sangria and two desserts. We had a lovely lunch. The restaurant only had one other table occupied when we were there, so difficult to comment on the atmosphere.

The food was delicious. But there was a guy walking around and playing his guitar and singing. And a very rowdy large table was singing along. The guy was a good performer and him alone would have been fine for a few songs. But with the table songing, it was piercing and echoed throughout the small dining room. He played non-stop for over an hour, starting before we sat down and continued even after we left. It completely ruined our dinner. I couldn’t hear anything anyone was saying at our table, even the person sitting next to me. I put on ear plugs and it was barely tolerable. Almost everyone around us was eating quickly and leaving fast. The food was delicious and server was very nice. But I was too much and I don’t know how soon I will return.

Food was very good, service attentive. Atmosphere was pretty loud (painfully so when the mariachis came in). All good until we got home and double checked the bill. For our party of six they snuck a $9 per person “banquet fee” into the bill and neglected to point it out. Bad form, won’t be back.

It's ok. Wine selection, food. Just ok. Albondigas stood out as good. Everything else mediocre... nothing terrible.

I live in spain and have tried Spanish restaurants all over the US. Chicago has the best.

People were very friendly and attentive but also not Spanish.
