The hotel staff were super helpful and the rooms are a good size for downtown SF. I love the boutique vibe of this place. Big thank you to Rodaba at the front desk for helping me check-in and the great advice on navigating the city.

Please consider changing the"restaurant" to a coffee bar, with more choices than a few tired looking pastries, and is open at check in. I always have an afternoon coffee, it would be nice to be able to get one after check in.

The hotel is in an excellent position, near Union Sq. and Powell Station. It is very fancy, rooms are extremely comfortable and the staff very very kind - Princess is lovely!!! I suggest this hotel for your stay in SanFran.

A well located hotel with everything you would need for a short stay in San Francisco. Good size, clean and comfortable room. Efficient check in and check out process. Games room and cafe on site but we did not use. Only negative was the noise coming from the street outside especially the street cleaning at 4am.

They are super friendly and so helpful. Princess made us feel like we were treated like KING and QUEEN hehe.

After reading some other reviews on TripAdvisor I was in 2 minds whether to stay here or not, however I took a chance, lots of reviews mentioned a “funky smell” in the rooms/corridors, in all honestly I never smelt anything funky. On check-in Victor told me I was all paid up and good to go, he then advised he’d upgraded my room (317) the room looked on to blank walls on 3 sides and would have constantly needed a light on, in addition and to me the most important thing, this happened to be behind the lift and so my room seemed to constantly vibrate and as I suffer with BPPV (a form of vertigo) I knew I couldn’t stay in that room for the duration of my trip. I had put this in the special requests form from Expedia so to give them the benefit of the doubt perhaps Expedia hadn’t passed this information on. I spoke with Corinne next morning and straight away she allocated a new room in the 2nd tower - to get there involved changing lift and following the arrows to another lift and going up to whatever floor. Even though this room (642) overlooked Post Street is was very quiet, larger and had much better natural light than my original room. Rooms are comfortable and room decor is San Francisco music inspired. The hotel is about 2-3mins walk to Union Square and you need to use your room key to access the hotel so I felt very safe. Now the unacceptable part, they will request a credit card and hold a $100 deposit per night for “incidentals” which I personally thought was a bit steep especially as Victor told me I was all paid up. I couldn’t really see what “incidentals” you would incur. I advised him that whilst I was keeping the room and had paid for it I would be in Las Vegas for 3 days and he agreed to “only” take $500 deposit instead. My room wasn’t serviced everyday I had to ask on the 2 occasions it was done. I could have lived with that but for the fact when I went to check out I was told I still owed almost $400 for hotel/room amenities such as the games room (which as a single female held no interest for me, apart from taking a picture of the peace sign they have in there, wi-fi, fridge, nespresso machine and the small bottle of water that was left. Given that wi-fi is expected in hotels now I have never paid to use the wi-fi for the last several years and that includes other hotels in San Francisco, if an nespresso machine and fridge are advertised as being in the room with no fee listed then you shouldn’t be then charged for it and as for the water, there was a large bottle with a label saying it was $5 so I didn’t use that and used the one (again advertised as part of the room) as I assumed it was free and as my room was only serviced twice then I only had 3 bottles and used 8 coffee pods - what next a fee for using the lift instead of stairs? Again Corinne tried to help as the other receptionist was very surly and refused to move on the charges, Corinne spoke to Victor and he agreed the 3 days worth of charges for my trip to Las Vegas could be removed, however that still left over $220 to pay. Interesting later that day whilst waiting for my Uber to take me to the airport Victor came into reception and given he had be part of a discussion with Corinne about me I would have thought he would have come over to speak to me but he just ignored me leading me to suspect he knew they were in the wrong over the charges. After departure I was sent a survey by the hotel and I have repeated there what I’ve said here so it will be interesting to see if I receive a reply, I think not. I have also contacted Expedia as to why these fees were not disclosed at time of booking (I also booked my Las Vegas trip with them and that confirmation included additional fees so why not the San Francisco one??) It is such a shame as the hotel is in a good location and as previously mentioned the fact that you had to use your room key to gain access is a good safety feature I liked the quirkiness of it but I don’t like to be ripped off.

I had a great time checking in at the hotel because of Princess made sure I have a good room. I love the location and Princess was very professional upon check in and during our stay. The rooms are great.

Conveniently located (most things within walking distance) , reasonably priced, rooms were clean, staff was friendly. You never know what you’re going to get in SF but this hotel exceeded our expectations

Hôtel location is great, the hotel is overall pretty clean and quiet, rooms are quite small which did not bother me. The staff is not very friendly though. The only thing i would complain about is the smell in the room, I am not sure what cleaning product they are using but the smell is too strong and doesn’t go away.

Really loved the unique feel of decor here. The games room was so much fun. Brilliant for myself and teen son to relax each day. It really added to our enjoyment. Main reason for choosing this hotel. We arrived early and the staff member was very considerate in allowing early check in. Our room was located at the back with very little interest for a view, but was actually perfect as so quiet and well suited to our needs. It had everything we needed and was always spotlessly clean. The location was great for exploring the city. So easy to walk everywhere from here. We felt safe during our stay with the security of hotel. Breakfast is a hot drink and pastry. It was a nice touch, but I wouldn’t class it as breakfast. We did enjoy the communal areas of the hotel whilst eating it. We really enjoyed our stay here. So pleased with my choice. It was an oasis of calm within a busy city. Thank you.

The hotel was at a great location in downtown San Fran. Room was ok too. We also used the gym. Other than that: the staff at reception were not very friendly with one exception - Princess stood out with her amazing service so thank you so much as without you the stay would have been awful in terms of service.

Arrived late on the 1st night of a 3 night stay on check in was great by a very friendly lady on the front desk hotel has a security door which you need you key to get access to the hotel but not the lifts to the rooms check in was smooth and the hotel is quirky with lots of great pictures and decor around the downside to the hotel we found it had a damp musky smell on the 4th floor building number 2 we didn’t venture to any other floors walls are quite thin and when trying to get your head down get awoken at 2am to loud music and raised voices which in turn made for a restless sleep so we turned the fb on at 3am in volume 4 so just about hear it the people in the room next to us started banging on the wall the location of this hotel is perfect for union square and the cable cars to fisherman’s wharf and is approx 30mins from the airport in a taxi it even has a separate games room downstairs

Great location for walking around the city, the room was really clean and all the staff were super friendly and patient with the many questions I had about travel, directions, taxis, packages arriving etc. and were always so quick to sort anything I needed without hesitation. Princess at the front desk was especially amazing and I’m very grateful for her help.

This review is long overdue since it's my go to hotel when staying in San Francisco. I live about 45 minutes out the way, so we frequent this hotel often when we want to be spontaneous and have a night out in the city. The hotel is esthetically pleasing making it hard to resist a dope selfie. The price is decent for our piece of mind... we like comfort and cleanliness so we don't mind spending a tad more. We love inviting friends to hang out in their game room after a concert or club. That gameroom is unmatched, and everyone there always has a great time. The only complaint is that there is a stale smell, but that's of expected in a remodeled hotel. Staff is always courteous. Shout out to Victor for setting up a bottle of champagne when we rented the suite for a friends bday. Little things like that is what sets this hotel apart from others.
