The Fang restaurant in San Francisco is highly recommended for its delicious and flavorful dishes. Chef Fang and his team provide exceptional service, going above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. The varied menu offers standout dishes like the apple honey shrimp and the chicken bao. Customers have enjoyed the Chef's Choice for large groups, which allows them to try a variety of dishes. Prices are reasonable, and the portions are generous. While the overall experience is excellent, some customers have noted occasional lapses in service, with reports of plates being dumped on tables and staff not being courteous. The restaurant is appreciated for its ability to accommodate dietary restrictions and for its welcoming treatment of out-of-town guests, even when they arrive close to closing time. Customers describe the food as consistently delicious and inexpensive compared to other options, with recent reviews praising the quality of dishes like the broccoli. However, some visitors did express disappointment with certain items, such as the curry soup and the hot sour soup being too spicy. Issues like clutter and sticky railings in the downstairs area have also been mentioned. One visitor was disappointed to find the restaurant boarded up during a holiday visit, with no signs explaining the closure. Overall, Fang remains a popular spot for its tasty food and friendly atmosphere, despite occasional service and cleanliness issues.
