Food was out of this world. So delicious! Our group ordered a variety of dumplings, rice, and noodle dishes. Service was quick. Would definitely visit again.

While very excited to try this restaurant because of Kathy Fang's notoriety, it was very disappointing. Upon arrival they pointed a set of tables on the hallway to the restrooms, of which they proceeded to set every other couple arriving right on top of each other, with a completely open restaurant. Normally I would have had an appetizer and left. However, was giving the some grace because I was expecting great food. It was sub par. Very traditional American Chinese with lots of fried items and sweet sauces on everything but the sizzling fried rice prepared table side and had no flavor. At all! So 3 dishes and $70 dollars later we left.

It was our son's 21st birthday. We were a party of 20 people. We had Peter look after us and take charge of our order which was super - family-style. All was delicious. They took care of dietary restrictions and made it easy for me. It was a very memorable night! Thank you! We live in Atlanta but I'll be back :)

I ordered take out to have in my hotel room. They put a coke in the order, when I ordered diet coke. They didn't put any cutlery, chopsticks or napkins in the bag. The food was not very good. I do not recommend the restaurant.

Food was great, why if you are in Fang most everything is House of Nanking. We have eaten there at Nanking and know the people are father daughter, however give Kathy a break, her food is fabulous but you do not need to be reminded of her father. She is a great creator of food and should be recognized for it not her father !!! Merchandise should only be Fang !!

We were the very last people to come in before they closed. We told them we were from out of town...and even though they were closing.. still treated us like we were first rate guests, amazing staff, and amazing food

My friends and I literally feel there is nothing your can order from this menu that you would not like.

Literally everything is delicious, and inexpensive when compared to some of the other options.

It was a bit unorganized as we arrived and had to wait to get seated. We had reservations and arrived on time. Our server was great. The food was just ok. The “crispy” fish with charred broccoli was soggy, not crispy nor charred. A bit disappointed.

The atmosphere is upscale but the food was terrible. Nearly every dish, from broccoli to spare ribs was heavily fried and topped with an overpowering emulsified sauce that tasted like it came from a bottle supplied by a multinational food company. The same honey mustard sauce was ruinously dumped on more than one dish. This was Chinese food conceptualized by someone with a 1950s/1960s food mindset and prepared by someone who didn’t care. It was the worst Chinese food I have had anywhere in SF. Our waitress recommended every dish we ordered so I have to assume we received the best they had to offer.

Ok, you know you picked a great restaurant when Chef/Owner, Chopped Champion Kathy Fang asks generally what you would like to eat and delivers 9+ exceptional dishes. "I got you" she said....and we were simply amazed! Incredible!!

We have dined at Fang twice and each time was a culinary experience that makes us want to return again! The flavors are amazing, each sending tastebuds into orbit. Portions are more than ample, and all presented beautifully. Peter Fang is the added bonus. He not only watches over his restaurant but takes the time to come over and watches over our order to be sure we are more than happy...and we were! My husband and I look forward to the next time we are in SF and dining at Fangs again.

We were a party of 10 and Chef Fang greeted us, asked about dietary restrictions and took our menus away! What landed on the table for the next hour was 10 courses for us to share. It was delicious!

Owner recommended the pre fixe menu and it was 5-courses of a taste explosion. Hands down the best Chinese food I've ever tasted.

Always outstanding. Kathy and Peter are phenomenal. Leave the food choice to them. Never disappoints. Service has improved substantially. Can't wait till the next visit.
