Had an amazing dinner at Fino, San Francisco
We didn’t have a reservation, but the staff was incredibly sweet and still made an effort to find us a seat. A special shoutout to Alma, who took such great care of us and made the experience even more wonderful.
There are plenty of great vegetarian options — we tried the tortellini pesto and it was delicious. My husband and I shared a pasta, and they thoughtfully split it for us. Even dessert was perfectly customized — we asked for just a single scoop since we weren’t very hungry, and they happily accommodated.
Overall, amazing food, warm service, and a lovely experience. Definitely a must-visit!

Many Italian restaurants these days offer gf pasta. But not every place is MAKING their own gluten free pasta! The service was amazing, the host told me they keep the gluten free area separate and ended with “we will take care of you” so kind, truly. Jose, our server was so fun, playing along with our jokes and explaining the menus in detail. Definitely recommend stopping here for some gluten free pasta!!

Fino’s Italian Restaurant- A San Francisco institution. We have been dining at Fino’s for over 30 years, and truly remain an institution in San Francisco. They consistently deliver the best Italian food in the city, paired with exceptional service that makes every visit memorable!
A special mention goes to Charles-both manager and waiter who has been there all these years. His dedication and hospitality are unmatched, and he’s a big part of what makes Fino’s feel like home. If you looking for authentic Italian cuisine and top-notch service, Fino’s should be your first choice. It’s more than a restaurant, it’s a tradition and make sure ask for Charles to be your server.

Came here as a last minute option while staying at a nearby hotel. Didn't have reservations (definitely recommend having them) but they had seats at the bar. Let me tell you, Megan the bartender was fabulous! She worked so hard but made sure to treat us and every other person at the bar with a huge smile and great customer service. I can't thank her enough. As for the food, yes please. Started with a caprese as did the couple next to us, two different chefs, two different presentations and both were stunning and delicious. Next I had scallops in an Arrabbiata sauce with noodles. My wife had Salmon with risotto and both were delicious. And from the bar we could see the kitchen (it's very open for all to see but the bar is right there. And wow those guys hustle. I was fascinated watching them work. I think the chef in black probably thinks I was eyeing him because he kept looking at me while I was staring. It was just so interesting to watch them all.

I would eat here every day if I could but sadly or San Francisco trip is over.

While in San Francisco for business i has Italian food a few timgs with great disappointment. This gem with a small dining was the only good Italian food we had.
Our server Alma was wonderful. Attentive and made great suggestions. My wife went traditional with a Parm, which was well prepared and just enough cheese. I almost always prefer my own sauce made at home as 99% of them are too acidic. But this one was great.
I was intrigued by the contadina which means peasant in Italian. Had never heard of it, not Im a HUGE fan! A bowl of veggies, potatoes, chicken, prawns and local Italian sausage. The broth was spectacular! Look forward to another trip back here soon.

Nice place. Very good service. The food is good by American standards, but behind from an Italian restaurant in Europe.
I had the salmon as a main, which was OK, but nothing special. I suspect the pasta is a better choice in general.
The minestrone was OK.
Overall this place is worth visiting. The prices are reasonable. A party of two paid $140 (tip included) for 2 starters and 2 mains. No drinks.
