We celebrated our 51st wedding anniversary at Fior. The staff, the food and the ambiance could not have been better. We have been coming to Fior for a long time--several members of the staff, including Gil, Israel, Lalo, Helen, all greeted us, and made us feel like family. Gil was our waiter tonight, great service, sense of humor, and all around made the evening even better. We both ordered a glass of wine and enjoyed their insalata mista and chicken with prosciutto and fontina cheese. Overall, a wonderful evening at one of The City's outstanding restaurants. Thank you to Gil and the entire staff.

Wonderful everything and everyone. I took my friend there for his birthday. He and I were soo happy with the food and size of the portions. The customer service was outstanding. This place will be our new regular Italian restaurant especially since Tommasso's closed down. I had spaghetti and meatballs, calamari (didn't finish) and a Cesar salad. My friend had the same, except his entree was osso buco (veap shank) con polenta. I tried some and it was outstanding. It came off the bone. I ate the marrow inside of it. The spaghetti and meatballs was one of the best I've ever had.

Excellent food, service and accommodations for a big party. Be aware of the parking in the area and plan accordingly. They ticket up until 9:00 p.m.

Fior d'Italia hasn't simply relied on its well-earned title as the “Oldest Italian Restaurant”. It continues to deliver with dishes that uphold the highest standards of Northern Italian cuisine. We savored the Prosciutto Con Frutta di Stagione, Calamari in Cesta, Tortellini alla Panna, Risotto alla Piemontese, and Trenette al Pesto. Every bite was pure perfection. The ingredients tasted impeccably fresh, and the Tortellini alla Panna and Risotto alla Piemontese were nothing short of extraordinary. The moment you step inside, you're surrounded by walls tastefully lined with framed photographs, capturing generations of Italians who have worked and dined here. Dining here feels less like visiting a restaurant and more like being welcomed into a piece of Italian heritage and every bite reminds you why Fior d'Italia remains a true San Francisco treasure.

Old school Italian food and service. One of our favorites year after year. Absolutely delicious!

This North Beach landmark has great energy, service, delicious food and wine selection. If you want local, authentic, fine dining, without breaking the bank, check it out, it's worth it.

The homemade pasta and sauces were fantastic. The waiter and bartender were both phenomenal. Great value given the quality of the food!

I was looking forward to returning here since we found this place last year. We selected a hotel nearby to complete the visit. I got the New York Steak and my wife had the seafood pasta, both were delicious and beautiful. It's really difficult to decide what to have for dinner since everything is so tempting. The service is terrific and the place feels like home, l think many of the guests are local and frequent diners.

sadly the previous experience was reinforced by this recent one we thought wed give a try 1 more time. As usual it was short staffed, regular manager not there and there were it appeared only 2 very overworked obviously agitated worn out servers running around looking upset & angry. We couldn't get attention of anyone to get water or menus forover 20 minutes; A very upset waiter finally arrived, apologized but did not vlounteer to give us dinner specials we had to ask. We have allergies and he was unnerved and over worked so appeared irritated to have to make note of the details needed for allergies. 1 order arrived that appeared to have seasoning on it we are allergic to after requested it be eliminated , when questioned server could have handled it better inatead of arguing. We asked to just double check with the chef but he wouldnt. 1 of us had no dinner other than bread. The booths are worm, torn apart and look used and in bad need of repaires. There was no air conditoining as usual so the dining area very hot and uncomfortable. Sadly so long to this restaurant. Bad service, over priced, warm and hot inside, torn furniture, and lacking nice efficient and sufficient staff.

Excellent menu and food quality. We enjoyed our return visit and to see our favorites still on the menu.

The shining example of old style dining in the City. Bar drinks and wine list were delightful. Service was just right amount of attention. Food was superb. We enjoyed a large basket of Calamari Fritti. Then plates of Osso Buco, veal piccata and ravioli with meat sauce served with pasta made fresh in the kitchen. There are many options for vegetarians and vegans. If you want something special, ask your server. The kitchen can make whatever makes you happy. Everything was a delight!

This is more than an exceptional restaurant; this is an experience. My sister and I were recommended to dine here and we were not disappointed. The staff were friendly and fun while still being totally professional. We were made to feel so welcome that we felt like long time regular customers, even though we are tourists from Australia and they would know we'd be unlikely to return for a very long time. It was great to watch the bar staff mix the cocktails and interact with other customers as well as ourselves. The food was just amazing. We don't have big appetites, but wanted to try a number of menu options, so we asked if we could share dishes. The wait staff were happy to comply. He actually went above and beyond, making each dish's serve so special and each of our menu options from starter to dessert were sooooo tasty, we almost swooned with each mouthful's delight.
