A diamond in a cole mine. Great sushi, excellent staff and service. The Tenderloin District, unfortunately, can be tragic. Don't let that detour you from trying this restaurant. I was unsure myself because of location.

Needed a Sushi fix so based on previous reviews we decided upon Fishmandu. We had a great experience. We ordered takeout- wait time about twenty minutes- I then had the pleasure of watching the chef prepare my meal in front of me. Spotlessly clean, fresh and beautifully presented- the best sushi I have eaten.

Wow is the best word to describe this place. We were greeted by buddy (not sure of the spelling), and he was so kind and friendly. We ordered a ton of sushi because it was so good we couldn’t stop. Honestly best sushi I have had in my whole life. I would make another trip to SF just to eat here! The chef and the service was impeccable. Casual, delicious, and felt like home in a strange way. I asked for something seared for nigiri just to try and while not on the menu, the chef said he could sear anything! I asked for a recommendation and it was unbelievable. Ask him to sear the Walu nigiri! It was chef’s kiss.

We were visiting San Francisco and stumbled upon this hidden gem and we’re so glad we did! The sushi was absolutely delicious, super fresh and beautifully presented. The service was outstanding friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Highly recommend this spot if you’re in the area and looking for amazing sushi and a great overall experience!
