Came here with my partner for a quick breakfast on a weekday and we were both impressed by their pastries! My favorite was probably the custard-filled kouign amann -- perfect level of sweetness and so incredibly flakey. My partner had one of their savory danish and said she would definitely get it again.

We're not regular visitors to the city but we'll be keeping Flour & Branch in our back pocket for any future morning ventures out! There were so many things on the menu we didn't have a chance to try, after all (and trust me -- we really wanted to try it all)!

The reason for my stars is value. Desserts looked super appealing but boy was it expensive. The least expensive item was a cookie for $6 and most items were $9.50, which seemed a bit ridiculous. Otherwise service was super friendly and professional but a tad slow. Ambiance and decorations were adorable! First visit and I might be back but it’ll have to be a special occasion.

Came here to take out a large order of pastries for my team.

Condescending attitude from the girl at the front counter - blunt responses to questions, no smile and a hint of gaslighting when they misunderstood my request.

Ended up doing just a partial order and went elsewhere for the rest.

The place is absolutely lovely, a little oasis in messy noisy 3rd St. Breakfast Sandy was a 6 or at most 7 out of 10, though beautifully presented. It was 50% saltier than it needs to be and the salad had too much dressing. Just not as yummy as I expected.

When you go to a michelin starred restaurant, of course you expect the food to be great, because people use the rarest ingredients, with the fanciest of machines to make fancy food.

The actual hard thing to do is take standard ingredients and prepare them in combinations that look normal to the eye but taste insane. Everything from this restaurant tastes like magic; like it shouldn't exist.

Even their tortilla chips + salsa tastes unlike anything I;ve had...the CHIPS. This is probably the best spot I've been to in SF that finds a way to keep the magic in the food.

One of the cutest cafes I have been to. Really cozy feel - you could spend hours reading a book or working on your laptop in a warm setting

I’m really disappointed by the service.

I’m actually a returning customer, and I’ve never had an issue with the food itself. It’s consistently good. BUT!!the service this time was truly disappointing.

I ordered a pastry and stepped outside to take a quick call for just about 10 minutes. When I returned and politely asked if my order was ready, the staff responded with a sarcastic comment about how I’m “not patient enough” simply because I stepped out. That alone was off-putting.

Even when I was placing my order earlier, the same staff didn’t really listen to what I was saying and gave me a look that felt frankly discriminatory. It made the whole experience uncomfortable and upsetting.

To be honest, I left feeling bad and disrespected.

I’m really disappointed by your response. I left my review honestly based on my personal experience—and I believe I have every right to do so as a paying customer.

First, just to clarify: the person you mentioned as “another customer” was actually my friend. We came in together and waited in front of the counter for quite a while. You didn’t acknowledge us at all until I stepped closer and said “hello. I want to order …” If you have a monitor or camera, I’m sure you can check that. She asked me to order first because she needed more time to decide, so I’m not sure why you’re claiming I didn’t allow you to assist her

Second, I have to ask—do you really consider your comment about me being “not patient enough” and the facial expression you gave me as polite? From a customer’s perspective, it felt dismissive.

I’m not here to argue—I just think it’s important for businesses to take feedback with humility instead of turning it into a personal attack.

Edit: Owner is blackmailing me because I left this review from an honest experience I had at this establishment. I had a bad experience and left this review.
