We had a fabulous meal at Frances to celebrate our 40th anniversary. Frances is the definition of a hidden gem, as it is located in a residential area, and has no signage at all. Inside, there are maybe 15 tables, and is is nothing fancy inside. With limited menu offerings, you better execute well. Starting with our server, who was very helpful in navigating the menu in regards to my wife's many allergies. We ordered the bread, the onion soup, and the maple-bacon beignets,...
The menu seemed very wholesome and not overly processed so we gave it try. We were so delighted with every dish we tried based on the recommendations of our server Carrie. Outstanding service, food, and mostly importantly value. It's so hard to find a good restaurant which can earn five out of five on value these days. Will definitely try again soon.
France's used to be excellent, but now it's just ok. Where are all the flavors and textures? Our meal was ok, but not great. We missed the panisses as well as the house wine. It was so noisy, very hard to hear our conversations.
